Ok, so this is where I will be including pictures from my 3 deployments, when I get home later that is. For now it will be a blog for my commentary of the current deployment, however pictures from the other two will also have commentary.
Oh, comment all you like as well.
So, about half way done with deployment. We just left Singapore today, my second time visiting but only first time going out to the city. On Sunday night I went out with my friend Josh, ate at a Scottish restaurant which was yummy, fantastic beer. We than walked around for a bit, went to 711 and found premade jack and cokes, they were quite good and very chuggable.
I stayed on the ship Mon, had duty on Tues and went out again on Wed night. Was fun, went to the exchange and got a few things. Than walked around the same place as we were last time, ate Thai and had something called a Thai Sling, it was served in baby coconut, all I know is that coconut milk was in the drink, anything else? No idea. We than went to a bar called The Clinic, you sit in wheelchairs and they give you IVs of alcoholic mixed beverages, very fruity and again, easy to chug. I had the blood red one( ) and he had this green one. He ordered a bucket of shots(6 in the bucket) that came in syringes. They were again blood red but different. We did 3 each, so all together, I had about 9 shots in less than 5 min, no buzz.
So than we went to a retro bar called Jello Yello(Yello Jello maybe?) and I had an AK 47, gin, vodka, tequila, something else, lemon and lime juice. It was sour and not that tasty but I finished.
Please don't judge me, I'm not an alcoholic, I just happen to go to bars on deployment.

So today we are out at sea, enjoying the sea life. Exercises going on as well. Nothing new.
Today I have read much of "Eclipse" from the Twilight series, which oddly I enjoy even though I abhore her writing.

So past two...or is it three? I'll go with two days. Sun: Nothing much happened, it's holiday routine(meaning for all non-military folks, basically a day off.) Stayed up after watch, came on-line and chatted a small bit, played some of my new game Infamous, finished Breaking Dawn and than slept from noon til 4:30. Had a hamburger for dinner, went to watch, played in another exercise, than slept from 10ish til 6:45am.
Today: Nothing much going on, finishing up things than we pull into port tomorrow. I can tell you which port tomorrow morning, so be ready for it.
I can't wait for this deployment to be over, only a little further to go and I am done! I dunno if I will be taking leave when its over though. I will be moving into an apartment, so....guess I'll let you all get back to your day.

Back in Singapore, again it's boring because we have to work all day. Chipping pain, busting rust, cleaning topside, painting. Not fun in 100+ degree heat with nothing but steel around you. Had watch today, a couple of the workers doing something for the Singaporean military found two puppies, couldn't be more than 5 days old. So cute! Alas, I do not think they will survive. I tried to get to call the SCPA(their pound I guess) and they can't send anyone.
I normally think of myself a terrible human, I've seen snuff films(Budd Dwyer anyone?) and I don't care about seeing a human die, commit suicide or homicide but when it comes to animals...it tugs at my heart strings. I hope they survive. Oh and I named them, Alpha and Omega.

So we left Singapore yesterday. I didn't leave the ship really while we were there but that is because I am saving monies. Got mail today, didn't get my Prototype video game but I did get my air soft guns. Shooting people irl is actually quite fun. >.>
Don't know what our next port visit is going to be or when, but hopefully soon. I wants my game. Nothing else to really report. I am sleepy though, had the mid watch, from 10 pm til 2 am.

So it's Sun, nothing really going on. Slept in til 9:45 am. I meant to wake up at 6:15 so I can get like 5 hours in Fallout 3 before I had watch but I failed. Watch was alright, nothing much happened. Watched the movie Screamers starring Peter Weller, which was pretty good. Other than that, nothing new to say.
Luce, don't know your real name. I am Ken. I thank you for comment and I am always safe.

Okay why is this in IC? Shouldn't it be in OOC? Is this really an ooc blog?

((Well, since it's a user soapbox, I don't believe it really has to be IC))

Damari, it is OOC, it's my deployment blog. I said Luce, only because I did not know Maigenn's name. As I stated, but thanks for trying to correct me.
~Note~ I am only using the name Damari due to not knowing the player's real name. *Shrug*

Ahhh.. yes, well. I know it was ooc. But this is an IC section. Wouldn't it be better to move it to ooc?
Since this is ooc. Not IC

((I'm happy to read you, but to me, this also is an IC section, so it feels quite weird reading you here... I'm with Puawai on this one, actually. To me that thread has its place in the OOC section...))

Hey Ken, be safe. Given the nature of what you're writing about, I'm really sorry you're being picked at here. My husband was in the Navy for six years; USS Carl Vinson. ~Kat

My husband was in the Navy for six years; USS Carl Vinson. ~Kat ((That's not picking at... It's just stating that however interesting this coverage of your journey is, its place is in the OOC section rather than in the IC section. That's all. I live in a city that's the second most important French naval base, and spent my evening discussing with the commanding officer and 2nd in command of one of your attack submarines. They were extremely cool, as you probably are. I know how important everyone is on a ship, and how important the missions are. However, does it change the fact that "opinion/user soapboxes" are IC categories? No. Just No. I don't want you to stop writing, not at all. I just want to read you from the OOC section. Etienne.
