Its amazing to see how fast your all trampling on the young. Yes one must learn to motivate ones self, however drives are provided by ones sire, because a sire offers goals, and a way to go shaping them into what they want to be.
How can a child make it to his destination if he doesn't even know which path to follow?
Not that I am shocked of course, most of you who are opening your mouths need a sire themselves, the rest are to stupid to bother with at all.

First Kiao, we are vampire, not children. Second, I have a sire, tvm. Thirdly, I have no time for whining little children that need me to hold their hands. Besides Rile of course. >.>
And last but not least, I sometimes have intellegent things to say. Just depends on if I've had my wheaties.
I suppose everyone's experience in this city is a different one. I came to be when the city was much different. No one held your hand. You either got off your ass or died feeling sorry for yourself. I had all my powers before Heimdag sired me. I was already an acting leader of a clan by then. Had fought battles and died in them.
So I'm sorry if I don't feel bad for this young one, that no one is bothering to teach him and that he feels the need to slack off. And the funny thing is, I MIGHT have, if he wasn't basically laying blame. I detest those who do not take responsibility for themselves and actions.
That being said, I have NO problem helping those seeking to learn.

No one cares about your opinions anymore. Secondly, I love to show how stupid you are, so I'll answer that. ^_^ Since when the fuck is a pyre in the City for THREE YEARS considered 'young'? Since when is a pyre with that many powers AND in the City for 3 years considered 'young'? No, drives are NOT provided by one's sire; the guidance to achieve your goals is what a sire does. You bring your desires and goals to the binding, the sire helps you achieve them. I personally wouldn't take on a lazy lump of clay with no motivation whatsoever, just to beat my head against a wall trying to mold him into something and find out later that he's not interested in it. Not only that, but he has no idea where his interests (ie: goals) DO lay. Again; shut the fuck up. You're a moron and you're getting dumber by the day. You want a chylder who is an admitted slacker? Go sire him. If you do, though, I pity him. Oh, and yeah, I do have a Sire. And I'm fully powered, thanks. Oh, and Boi-O, much as I love you and don't want to stand in the way of what you want, I really don't think you 'tick all the boxes' with this one... you hate to fight. Plus, you're not clanned, nor are you older than most pyres I know. And I've probably missed one or two. Though no one can deny that you nail the attractive part on the head. LOL

Tyger, he's still an immature little kid who needs to do a lot growing up. Other than that, mostly agreed.

This subject always makes me nuts because people think that age and time here have some bearing on each other: Time in the city has nothing to do with how old the vampire is. I know plenty of vampires who were turned several centuries ago, long before they came here.
It is true that he lacks self-motivation, but perhaps no one ever bothered to explain what the powers will do for him and how much fun it is to be completely fully powered. Not saying that's the case, just that it's possible. Besides, threatening him with a holy water up his ass might just be fun for some of us. One way or another, he'll get what he needs both in terms of a sire and powers.
That being said, the fact that he's searching and that he is wanting to know about clans and history does show a certain motivation, so who knows what will become of him.

((Edited for wording in the first paragraph... I need coffee.)) Well, the converse is often touted loud and clear around here; 'You've only been in the City for 3 months, you're just a baby and nothing you say has any weight'. So why should being in the City for 3 years not count as being 'an old hand'? He's figured out HOW to get powers (unless he just bought them all), made decisions on which ones to get, so he knows SOMETHING. As far as learning history and crap, well, all he needs to do is open your RavenBlack Historical Society pages. I don't think that being a self-proclaimed slacker is a point in his, or anyone's favor; that's my point. And unless he's been chasing hunters on a daily basis since he came here, or being zeroed constantly, laziness is the only explanation for having such a low BP. Sort of like Lisastrata and her 3,471BP, after being here as long as or longer than my own semi-fatass, who has been zeroed PLENTY. And I am taking into consideration the fact that she'll claim to have been gone for a year or some shit; myself, I've been fucking D&B half a fucking year, so that shit doesn't fly with me. Though she's been back so long her BP should have quadrupled by now... I chalk that up to Kaio's stellar sireship.

I must say, I actually do agree with Tyger.
Looking for a sire to "gain new strengths in relationships and allies"? A sire that "matters to the city"?
You mean leeching off your sire's 'fame'?

If you're looking for guidance in your powers, why not go into a school and be actually trained? Getting sired is about more than learning about the city. It doesn't matter how many centuries old you are, THIS city is different. Being new to here or three years living here is irrelevant is you're just finally getting interested enough in stopping spending each evening loitering wherever it is you loiter and chasing hunters.
If you're evolving into wanting to become a fully powered adult (in the eyes of your peers) vampyre then do it. There are plenty of clans that will train you and get you where you need to be. Perhaps you'll find your path, meet another who inspires you enough to want to be sired by them, have the ceremony...
My sire was NOT my teacher. Hell she turned me on a fluke cause she wanted to fuck me and bring me into her lil bloodline coven. She turned me for another. Not knowing at the time I let her. I was in love with her. I was burned. Poor me bla bla bla...yet, she brought me to her dojo and I was accepted in. I was trained by TRAINERS, not by my sire...and if I didn't work? BOOT!
