My reasons are my own but yes, that is one of them. I still love him very much and always have.
Thank you for the condolences.

Generally speaking..
When you say, "If he doesn't show up today, I'm gonna sever him," in a room full of people..
I tend to check up on that shit.

I'm not angry that it made the papers or even surprised, Coq. It wasn't a decision I really wanted to make so I wanted to keep it out of the public for as long as possible. I hope maybe someone can understand that? I didn't want to wave it around like it was a good thing. That's all. And yes, black_dragonet, it did hurt...and still does. =/

I both understand and respect that the situation is a hard one for you and you may have hoped for more privacy than you received. However..
One would assume that if you hadn't wanted anyone to know, you wouldn't have made such statements in the ghettos, which is widely admitted to be a public place (as shown by how many people reacted to the commentary Lady b and Tifereth made in there last month) and complained about how you never see him, and if he didn't show up when you snapped your fingers and demanded him there, you were going to sever him.
Some may have taken it as a joke. Others, like me, did not. My job is essentially bindings and severings, and I take great care to research every claim I come across that says a binding or severing may occur.
I know what it's like to have an absentee husband, although Malk has been gone for a fraction of the time mine was before I requested my own severance. It sucks, and it is a difficult thing to accept that your significant other has better things to do than cater to your every whim. However, I was not informed, as I have been with other severances, that I should wait for any amount of time and give some sort of mourning period. What I saw was a very public exclamation of intent to sever, and I ran with it.
It might not be a good thing, but it -was- waved around. By your lips no less.
