"You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery channel." It dawned on me the other night that I have had a lot of sexual partners since being turned, possibly more then I'd have should I still be human, but one can't really tell. So is it normal to give in to your baser desires? A lot of vampires in this city seem to be highly moral, they either remain a virgin or they marry and stay loyal to their partner, but I believe that goes against what we essentially are. No animal mates for life, despite the romantic spin we put on it. They make take a long term partner, but should their partner die, they soon take another. The only animal that thinks it's normal to not sleep around is the human.. and we are not human so why do we call those who take multiple partners whores or sluts? There's a big difference between sex and love, I know that. I love quite a few 'pires (and animals) that I have no intention of ever getting intimate with. I've even entered relationships that have remained sex free, although admittedly that wasn't my choice. Did it make things more difficult? I won't lie, it put too big a strain on things and caused the relationship to change to one more akin to family but that wasn't really a bad thing. Could I bind to someone knowing there would be no sex? No, I know that no matter how much I loved a 'pire, without something physical I'd soon stray and I'm not a cheat. Of course, not being a cheat doesn't stop me sleeping with or fooling around with other people's partners. I'm a huge flirt, spend five minuets in my company and you'd soon see that, and if I see a come-on.. well I come on (.. or in.. innuendo intended ). Is that a bad thing? I don't think it is. We are creatures of lust and seduction and to act any other way is unnatural. Do I ever feel regret? Honestly, only if the third party finds out and I have to confront the fall-out of my actions. Even more honestly, only once in my unlife have I felt bad for acting inappropriately with another 'pires partner, and they know who they are. But I'll never apologize for acting the way I do because I act like what I am, a vampire. I take what I want and I get it however I can. We are supposed to be sexual beings, we are supposed to use our bodies to attract our prey, we are supposed to be above such constraints as religion and morality. I know we're dead, but why let a little thing like that stop you from living a little?

I know we're dead, but why let a little thing like that stop you from living a little? Canis Lupus mate for life. The thing about them taking another partner if their first dies, that's simply for efficiency. In wolf packs, the Alpha couple gives permission for other pairs to mate for reproduction. Without this permission, the beta pairs do not mate. Thus, since Alphas are the only ones producing children, they either have to take a new mate at the death of their primary mate or no longer reproduce. Honestly, though, I'd rather have a closed relationship with a single partner than have multiple partners simply because I get easily jealous and am desirous of killing others who sleep with the man or woman I'm with. Natural reaction, to be honest. In any case, I don't see any reason that it's bad to be intimate with multiple partners, however I think if one mates with another on a more than simply physical level then they should remain faithful to that person, irregardless of their desires. They made their commitment, if they don't desire to honour it, then they shouldn't make it.

We're vampires, not rabbits. >.> Tell that to my wife and I. Well... Congratulations on all the happiness. But, I was more or less referencing vampires that hop from mate to mate... like rabbits. Oh, and then there are some that breed like rabbits too. It amazes me.

I would actually know nothing on this topic from personal experience, but during some of my studies, I came across the chemical components that are known to produce feelings of love in many humans. The largest part is Endorphins, which, many know, come from feelings or activities that are physically tiring. Some people feel great after working out, others, after sex, some after eating chocolate. Humans would equate that having sex should have something to do with love, as it produces the feelings shortly after in most people. Those who do not and have multiple partners for the sake of feeling what they do after sex are considered sluts, or whores depending on who is speaking at the moment...
But that is just my two cents.

I don't think its a case of equating it to love or not. Orgasm iniates the release of oxytocin into the body which is responsible for the feelings one would get after sex - love, happiness and all that jazz. Therefore the majority would find sex as something enjoyable and to be repeated, does this make them a slut because they like the feeling the release of oxytocin causes ?
I think its personal preference. Want to fuck around ? Do it. Want to remain faithful to one person ? Do it. Just don't think less of people for giving in to desire or for withstanding it.

I couldn't care less if anyone likes sex or not. I personally find it revolting how many of them are in supposedly committed relationships and end up fooling around with someone else behind their partner's back. -That- is what being a slut is, at least in my opinion. If the parties have made no commitment to each other, that's a different story of course. I still think it is healthy to have a certain time period between relationships, meaningless sex or otherwise. That amount of time would really just depend on the individual I suppose.

Still, I doubt I could be so very carefree.

Although I don't like to think of bebesex, I do agree with that view sometimes. There are days when I can see a reason for keeping to human moralities but then there are days when I just want to be a lustful, bloodthirsty, nymphomaniac vampiress who makes her husband weary on a daily basis.
