When two individuals fight mono a mono, it is for most intensive purposes a duel. But yeah obviously someone doesn't have balls enough to fight one.

In all of this, I really only have to ask one thing.
Is anyone at all surprised that Hanyou, or anyone beneath AA in his faction for that matter, would show absolute cowardice by formulating some half hearted excuse to 'decline' and remain in Shadows?

I don't see what the big deal is about all this. A lot of vampires in this city don't duel. If she has beef with him just go hit him, the "He's a coward and wont duel" is a double bladed sword, one could say she is afraid of the consequences of what might happen if she attacked him outside the bounds of a duel. Just my .02

Just my .02 Can't argue with that. Then again, just going and hitting the bastard is not the best thing in the world to do, either. Something can either come back and bite you in the ass, or it'd be a waste of time. It's not all that hard, Hanyou or whatever. Fight one on one, it's cheaper, more fun, more skillful Fight clan vs. clan? Just as entertaining, takes alot more knowledge to survive, and never fails for entertainment. Sometimes. Other times it's just as annoying as a declined duel.

I don't duel, that doesn't seem to stop damned fools for issuing duels to me though.

Just my .02 I'm inclined to disagree with this. In my eyes, rejecting a duel and not attacking a clanned 'pire are two different things. Rejecting a duel, 'specially after you have stated that are stronger, more powerful and much more wittful than said 'pire....you are a coward. A chump. Someone who can talk a lot of shit with no balls to back it up. Not attacking a clanned 'pire is smart. If she just straight out attacks Hanyou, smlcspike knows she'll die. Whereas if she duels him, she has a fare chance of showing just how weak or as much of a punk Hanyou really is. That is just my .02

I'd never accept a duel either. Of course I dont run about saying I'm better or stronger than anyone either...so if challenged its gonna be for some stupid grudge or drama. Frankly, I think duels are silly....now a live fight, much different. I'm not gonna give you the benefit of rules to protect your ass if you wanna poke me. I have in the past went one on one with Mia, that was planned...but no rules, no arrangement...just straight up, lets do this. It was fun Like I said...big difference in someone threatening and boasting being big and bad...and the other saying...'Come on then, lets do this, me and you, bitch'... than someone saying 'I challenge you to a duel.' And setting a bunch of unnecessary rules and shit.

Hmmm... I kinda thought that in a duel, it would be a live fight, no?
At least, that's the only kind I'd get into. And yeah, I'd accept that kinda duel, but I'd have to have at least a modicum of respect for the one I'd be dueling.

A duel by definition is a formal arrangement. A live fight is much less so. No arrangement, no rules, just fighting while both pires are live, wide awake, and moving. Most often a live fight, isn't prearranged, just happens in a battle, whether between one or several. Not that you arent Live during a duel, just doing it under the restraints of rules binding you, and some sort of arrangement or agreement.

I think I didn't make enough sense before. Lack of coffee, even as a vampire, poses a problem.
The only kind of duel I'd be interested in getting into would be the live kind.
