This is less review and more rant with a strong urge to hunt down the humans responsible for this shit, drain them all, and then wash my eyes out with holy water. Is it not bad enough that we get this vampiric Romeo and Juliet shit in book and movie form thanks to Twilight? They now have to make a television version from the guy that did Dawson's Creek?!?! *stabs eyes with knife*
Tell me if you've heard this one before. Small quiet town...young innocent high school girl...brooding and mysterious stranger enters the stage as the new guy....of course you have because it's been down before, but these money hungry humans are going to keep making this crap as long as there are emo tweens to watch it *bangs head against desk*
Watch and cringe....I'll be stabbing myself some more out of frustration....

I'm not sure which is more disgustingly offensive. That or Twilight.

Okay, for the obviously misinformed, the hype can very much be attributed to Twilight, but this book series was out long before Twilight was ever dreamed up. A full 10 years ago.
And really, you guys are all having a fit, but this is aimed at teenagers, it's a young adult series. What do you expect?

Yeeeah. As someone who read those books when they first came out, long long before Twilight was dreamt up, I hate to see them compared.
Though, I doubt this show will do the novels any justice.
On the other hand, it's always neat to see the mortals fantasies of our existence.

Oh, and let's state the obvious: They don't fucking sparkle!

It doesn't especially matter to me when one book series or another came out. I am deeply offended by the way in which our kind is portrayed. No matter what the targeted demographic is, it is disgustingly bad. You're entitled to like those books and stand up for them all you like, and I am more than entitled to dislike them and what they put forth.
Don't like that people gripe? Don't read it. Fairly simple solution I think.

I'm fine with opinions, which is why I expressed mine, thanks!

Uhh huh, and? It's more or less like what you said before, Lyric, only I'll change it to fit: "Don't like it? Don't watch it." Again, it's aimed at teenagers... and you all are... what, a few centuries old, right? It's like complaining about a TV show meant for toddlers.

Well, as much as this flame-bait-war sounds just peachy, I'll pass. Still flattered there are any tv-shows about us. As I said before. Apparently had to re-itterate it. Odd.

You just said you are a fan of opinions, and yet you're ridiculing others for having one that differs from yours. You may think it's pointless to be offended, but I disagree, and isn't that what we just covered?

And really, you guys are all having a fit, but this is aimed at teenagers, it's a young adult series. What do you expect? Yes, you stated the very hostile opinion that we are 'obviously misinformed.' When we are not misinformed. We see this tripe being paraded around as 'vampire novelty' and we're generally displeased that this is how they see our kind. So far that's the only opinion you've displayed. You've brought up the fact that the hype is due to Twilight, the fact that it's 10 years older, and the fact that there are no sparkling stripper vamps. However, the only opinion you expressed is one attempting to discount our opinions as 'misinformed.' Maybe one so believing in opinion's as yourself would like to give us an opinion on the books and the tv series; rather than your opinion on us and our opinions.
