Imm'a be real blunt here. Blood and time in this city are not what make a pire Honor is. 100k+ bp or 1bp.... it matters not. I am so sick of that tired line. Fuck honor. Such a subjective term in this place has lost whatever meaning it once had. The loose ideals of honor from fools are blowing in the wind. The quintessential making of true vampirism is Power. A noble weakling is nothing. An honorable looser is a looser all the same. We are not humans who are born and die... our lives are not about the merits of our existance, as it is unending. There is no great scorer in the sky who will one day write against our name. We exist to consume everything our gluttonious fangs can tear out for us. To smoke and drink with those worthy. Let the weak honor your every want.

Of course don't get me wrong. It is importiant to be true to your own. A known backstabber is doomed to be weak, as he will be alone.

People might not like you if you don't conform to those loose codes of honor and respect though! <insert tears of sincere sorrow here>

The blood we gain in this city is destined to be blood we lose unless we decide to turn into neutral 'pires. Blood isn't what makes a vampire strong. Tactics. How each pire makes a decision and acts in their unlife, that is what makes a vampire. Not their blood or powers. You can hand any idiot a Holy Water, I bet they know how to throw it. But you can't hand any idiot a strategic view, and expect them to follow through with it, understand it, and make it their own.
The will to learn, and the will to teach, instead of being greedy and keeping it all for yourself. The favors you do for others The respect you show, and the disrespect you show, or gain.
An ant can put power over ophelia for how pretty it looks, and how it crawls over her skin makes her all fuzzy inside. Doesn't mean she's going to give up everything she has for said ant. But she will do her hardest to protect it.

*smiles softly* Scythian darling... I'm actually quite glad you brought this up. You are right... in a general sense there is more to Honor that makes up a pire. however, it's my belief that without a sense of personal decency, one achieves nothing but scandalous and fleeting fame. I'm a family oriented piress. And I know what I do reflects upon those who chose me as a sire. Thus the comment about honor. Besides....I dont and never have sought power. Unless one considers the strength on a personal level I strive constantly to attain. *shrugs* Perhaps I am a rare breed. -- And in any case... the real point of that comment...was on the fact that blood is transient. Easily gained. and Easily lost. And time in the city... Time I feel is almost irrelevant... There are some very young, very small pires who grew up on hard knocks. And because of that they know a great deal about the city. And there are "Elders" who.... have yet to experience City Life in its truest sense. And it doesn't matter how many thousands of pints a pire has... it is his CHARACTER which is static. That intangible something that binds us to our beliefs, whatever they may be, our convictions, our honor. -- In any case.... this is all my humble opinion. And, so I've been told... opinions are like assholes... everyone's got 'em Carry on. I do wish to see how this plays out

My point is that every single peice of garbage kitten fluffer in this city will drone on endlessly about their honor when it is in truth nothing more than narcissism and witless pride that turns their wheel.
Self delusion is not honorable. Hate and scorn if you must, but do it honestly.
If you so need to rationalize your existance call it ethics, for honor is a very distinct ideal. A code writ in stone if you can understand the meaning. Not a fleeting perspective that one can twist around and bastardize for the sake of their own self love.
When I say "Fuck Honor".. I mean the blatant lie a great many of you mindlessly call honor.
EDIT: To clarify, as I know I do not often make myself properly understood.. and I don't want people to think I'm some sort of meritless backstabber.
I am nothing but loyal to those who are my friends.
Ravenblack Honor*= Selfish need to believe you have the moral highground
This is a way of thinking that has plagued every society in history, man and vampire alike.

And there are "Elders" who.... have yet to experience City Life in its truest sense. Not to nit-pick, but, isnt that a matter of perspective? How do you know that these Elders that you refer to have not experienced it? because it isnt blasted in a paper? There are many elders who remain quiet in public, but are in fact quite the 'bad-ass' and honorable, and deserve just as much respect... just my 2¢

I agree with Delphine. I prefer to remain quiet and when I rise to status of elder I doubt that will change much. It is those who are restrained or reserved with their words that pique and draw my interest and respect if for nothing else their wisdom in knowing that dumping and spilling everything is unwise. The less those around you know about you the better. It keeps the elements and tactics of surprise rewarding in most situations. To assume anything when you know little about those you speak of leaves you presumptuous at best...if you can afford to be that is.

Honor is comprised of many facets of a human or vampire's personality -- honesty, respect, trust, and dignity. Honor is judged by our actions. What constitutes "honor" is defined by one's society and its expectations.
Are we honorable?
I would have to say, on the whole, we are not. Why?
1. We steal from each other constantly. There is no respect to leave one another alone. Instead we pilfer each other's pockets and laugh at those foolish enough to have large amounts of coins available. 2. We lie to each other. Spying is an art form that many have perfected. Alliances are made and betrayed. 3. We are generally sexually promiscuous. Yes, there are the rare bindings that last but for the most part we change partners as often as we change underwear. (Please do not reply that you do not wear underwear, that is TMI and not relevant.) 4. We have no loyalty. We change sires, family lines, and partners at a dizzying rate. Even the so-called "family-oriented piress" just severed a second time. We drop childer for the most absurd reasons or no reason at all, sometimes shedding them en masse.
Blood is not honor. Blood is a type of power. Coin is a type of power. Longevity in the City shows perseverance and allows one to gain perspective and hopefully, a certain amount of wisdom, but it has nothing to do with honor and may or may not provide power.

Stand up for your family sometime since your so family oriented ask knives if he remembers the scare I left on his face when he was severed from my line. Lazy pire still hasn't gained much since then. And there are "Elders" who.... have yet to experience City Life in its truest sense. Not to nit-pick, but, isnt that a matter of perspective? She has no idea what goes on behind closed doors. Those she may think as dishonorable maybe a massing a power yet unknown to the 90% of chatty pires roaming the streets. I agree with Delphine. I prefer to remain quiet and when I rise to status of elder I doubt that will change much. They don't even have any clue what you have or can do. But I do sweet stuff. *Laughs Evilly* I agree with Delphine. I prefer to remain quiet and when I rise to status of elder I doubt that will change much. It is those who are restrained or reserved with their words that pique and draw my interest and respect if for nothing else their wisdom in knowing that dumping and spilling everything is unwise. Which we as immortial and superior beings should not be so blind to as those with the stinted vision of impermanent creatures... This is in the off topic section, so believe it or no it happens. And what would Adderal be able to do for a vampire? great, another useless string of words typed for no greater reason other than for their author to see them there. I'm just going to reply to noteworthy posts from now on... And you needed to reply with that for what? See your own insult in writing? Samantha responded to a topic that has evolved beyond your simple prospective and she made a commit that add a just due opinion. Perhaps you should just stand by and taken in what others have to see specially those who don't say much that often, you might learn something. Now for my opinion... What makes a vampire? Do you know who I am? Can you recall what I have done and what I might do? Do you know of me or know me? Do you know my name even if you have never met me? Have you heard of my tails or stories of the things I have done to others or they have done to me. Can you think of any or part of my history? Have I killed you or someone you know? Have I robbed or bitten you? If you have answered yes to any or all of these then I am the vampire I wanted you to think I am. Be it I fooled you or not I obtained my goals as a vampire. Honor is something of an opinion. I find honor in being able to kill you. I find honor in knowing my morals and loyalty stand out of your reach. I find honor in knowing I have more blood, coin, weapons and property then most. I find honor in knowing that if you have the balls to attack me that I will not stop attacking you until you are dead or I can't attack you anymore or a resolution has come about. I find honor in only having one sire, one clan, and one Partner for the rest of my days. I find honor in sticking to my oath and knowing that others know I will do so no matter what. I find honor in knowing my actions speak louder then my words and are very will known. You may find me an arrogant ass but in that I find honor.
