*grumbles* No. You are young, so you are stupid. And lazy too. Getting to 500 pints takes a week to a half dedicated vampire. Speak less, work more, and listen to the elders such as Rel. Excuse me, but let me point out something to all you "elders", as you call yourselves. In order to gain coin, a necessary prerequisite to gaining powers, I chase a lot of vampire hunters. I'm not sure if you know what those are, but to you they appear green and they shoot arrows bolts. Bolts = blood loss = low blood count Use your brain. HAHAHA wow... alright to answer your first question, there is an enormous difference between being just turned and building to getting the shit kicked out of you from holy water losing all of your blood in once instance as far as your strength and ability to do things. Good of mephie on how much balls he has to shout around the city after being pummeled, but for the most of us that's just machismo nonsense. Perhaps he's found some sort of accelerator to energize him with piss and vinegar after being knocked on his ass in a fight. Good for you! I applaud your tenacity and your ability to visit with a necromancer. Justify it all you want, but it's a weak horribly weak stance to take, and a completely irrelevant example. Secondly...if you perceive chasing hunters as your only means to gather coin, you're being trained by a nitwit. I love me a hued green bitch as much as the next, especially since i've devoted my unlife to the art of gathering coin, but it's a complete waste of time to chase them instead of going after powers such as stamina...in which you actually need blood to lose not just the coin to purchase the quest. Are you actually a vampire working towards some goal, or a second rate thief who's only purpose is to gain coins for others? Being here four months is the excuse? That's a laugh. In four months you should have a hell of a lot more accomplished besides just your shadows and thieving skills. But, please...please do continue to 'teach' me about how to be a thief in the city...

Machismo nonsence? Probably right. But the point i was making, that you failed to see was that, putting aside traditions of torpor... A pire can do the things i previously stated immediatly after being zeroed. The physical restrictions placed on a recently zeroed pire only apply to those who are cloaked. But what is universal is the fact that 200 pints are required to use hw or gs. And 50 pints are required to use scrolls. Anything else is a personal choice, but not neccessarily a personal belief. This lesson of rbc 101 has been braught to you by the letters "M" and "S" and the number "0"1

Vex: relax some hun, you probably need it with the headache you must have from this. I'd say the headache is self-induced seeing as it's really none of his business. Jair: Being mouthy is going to get you continually squished. It's a bad idea in general, but I blame your sire for not teaching you that straight on. What is personal growth without a few cuts and bruises? The whole "sit down and shut up" thing is so last century. That being said, I don't believe in oppressing my childer. They should be free to speak their minds (which is what Jair did). I can't possibly teach my childer something that goes against my own beliefs. The thought of it is simply ridiculous. They are also fully aware that this will land them in trouble but it doesn't seem to stop 'em. And it shouldn't. If we are to bring up the topic of "respect your Elders" then I'd rebut with "do to others what you would like to be done to you", the ethic of reciprocity. Which, I'd like to remind everyone, applies to everyone. Not just younger vampyres. It's interesting how only half of the story is being told here and that the only being repeated over and over is the idea that Jair was being "mouthy". Surely, one would think there was more to that... after all, there are two sides to every story and the one that gets publicized the most seems to have the favour of the larger population. It's a pity really; that's where most prejudice is stemmed from.

Silly boy...of course I saw your point. Again, I think it's completely irrelevant to the physical realities of what your body looks like after being doused with a crap load of holy water. Which returns to my question...you - not being affected by that, obviously, must have a new found drug that makes your skin impervious to the water that is holy!
I fail to see how you can 'choose' not to be burned to a crisp and how you can 'choose' to think that your brain would be thinking of anything other than blood and healing instead of typing on a message board...do you? But, these kids nowadays, eh?
I can just see it now!
*coughs sputtering what little remaining blood is left in my carcass, skin withered to almost nothing, desperately grasping for my iphone to get to my casualty posting* I...deny...your kill. *crawls towards home, shouting to all who can hear how strong I am, not reacting to my combatants laugh at my feeble attempt to appear as something that i'm clearly not...which is burnt...and looking like shit*
pfffft.

I love the pain, quite honestly. It makes me feel... Well, it makes me horny to be quite perfectly honest and use crude vernacular. However, I do recognize that my body would be grievously affected by the Holy Water, in the event that I was zeroed that is, to the point of pitting and scabbing, and just all around becoming flopping on the body. None-the-less, the body can operate with half of it's total blood content, recognized to be approximately ten pints. As vampires, I assume we would be capable of bypassing this on pure strength of will, as it is by some malformation of our wills that we continue to exist. In essence, it is entirely possible that we could continue to act upon our impulses and thoughts even when low on blood, so long as someone saw fit to provide us with a certain amount of blood with which to heal one's body enough for activity. If my chronological notation is correct, however, Jair had exceeded the ten pints, four of which could have been used to repair the damage done to said physical form. All blood above 10 pints is, quite honestly, superfluous and only adds resistance to the weapons of the city. In any case, I'm going to try to avoid a pissing match with you, Rel, as I do like you. I just hope that you won't dislike my take on this situation.

No worries on my dislike That's rare. ...if this Jair had consumed enough blood to begin to build back up strength, then by all means kudos. Yet, with the back and forth on what constituted an actual 'kill' where, even though not xray-ed on the fly to prove that his entire frame only held two pints, it all seemed irrelevant to the fact that hello...perhaps it hurt like hell? Even for a vampire who adores the pleasure aspect, even you have admitted that at some point - doesn't feel so good anymore, eh? So, would the first thing you do be send a message in such a clear and defiant way, or would you perhaps seek out some blood and salve to save your skin. That I believe is my true confusion...the activity. Doesn't seem completely sound or mentally stable! Perhaps this Jair is koo koo? Best stay away from it, Acer. I don't trust it's eyes... And the hunter excuse? That just couldn't go by. Plus, since this isn't truly a casualty I am quite confident that although I'm off topic, the topic itself is just a bit...off.

I would seek only blood for the first bit, until my skin had reformed for the most part. However, my mental faculties have never once been impaired by being hit. I believe it was the Daleks who said it best, when after melting a bit of paint off the eye stalk, one of them said, "My vision is not impaired!" I don't believe i would be quite coherent after such an effect, however I would attempt to defend my own honour in the event that I saw no justification. That being said, I -do- take torpor. I just dislike it because once I enter it I become unable to wake for hours at a time.
In any case, I think we're all off topic. I thought it was supposed to be 'rest well' and move on, however I had something to say regarding my anatomical knowledge. I've done a few experiments in regards to this, on vampirized animalia in my laboratory, and in the event that they suffered extreme damage, it usually only took a small amount over their body's natural containment to heal, which could be switched over to humanoid sanguinarians.

Pf... "Improved version of Sartori" my skinny white ass.
Anyway. He doesn't follow torpor. Oh, big shock. Not.
Let the kid move on. I swear to fuck, it's always the same bloody debate everywhere. Not everyone will share the same point of view as you, and what you deem logical and "right" can not be that way for the rest of the City's inhabitants.
"There's no right or wrong, just perspective and opinion."
As per usual, I find myself agreeing with this.
Opinions are like assholes--everyone's got one. You give your opinion, someone else doesn't like it, you pay for it in blood, or... whichever other body part the other person decides. If you can put your weapons where your mouth is, all the more power to you. If not, you get zeroed, and if you rest or not is your own decision, no matter how much others will bitch about it in the end. Just stick to your position, if you will. Don't go around saying you won't take torpor and, then, if someone attacks you again, "BUT I'M TORPORED!" Or the other way around. It's bullshit. It makes you look bad. It's a big "no no".
Torpor or no torpor, what do you care? It's his problem. What he does or ceases doing is his Sire's problem, also. The fact that you comment on it only makes you look like a nosey old fart.
-Shrugs behind her screen, flicking her tongue against the back of her front teeth as she grins-
Eitherway. G'luck, kid.

Dickhead, you just made me waste a perfectly good and only halfsmoked cigar. *rubs hand* Where should I start??? First, shut up until you're fully powered and have a decent ammo stock. What you're doing right now is just pathetic... you're achieving nothing except exasperating people. I didn't say I was an ancient, I'm an old acidic stinky piece of shit who's been chasing hunters as a hobby for the last 6 years. When your hunter count goes over 250, then maybe you can try teaching me things about the green fuckers. The prerequisite to getting powers have always been "work hard" and "use your brain". It seems both are completely out of your possibilities. Maybe yours might be a different way, like "bend over so that I can fuck you". Whatever floats your boat, but it might be your only option if you keep that stupid way of yours. For the others, yes, 500 pints in a week is of course for vampires with powers. Vampire without powers are just pieces of shit with a mouth, with which they should not be allowed to do anything save bite for blood. So, I'll keep it short for you brain defective crap. Shut up and Work. Then you can talk

Secondly, do you even READ what your childe says?! If I had done that, I would have suffered the same fate! And your childe is a reflection on you. Quite frankly, he's a piss poor reflection. I foresee many more deaths in his future. None by his hand, many by his mouth.

Firstly, none of my comments were to you, please pull your nose from the conversations you were not intended to be in. Again, you seem to be overlooking the freedom of speech that this newspaper provides us with. You are not having a conversation with (it would be strange to have a conversation in a newspaper) but making comments in response to what people have said. I, in turn, am doing the same thing. None of what I said was offensive so there's really no need for you to jump down my throat, miss. Of course, it would be stupid of me to even respond to any of this had I not read any of his comments beforehand. Anyone would have, so your point is sort of invalid. Either that or I missed your point entirely. My apologies. Then so be it. You have disregarded the part where I said that my childer are well aware that being naughty will land them in vats of Holy Water, but it doesn't stop them from speaking their minds. I'm sure many, many Elders in this city were attacked and/or zeroed as fledglings and a good lot of them have grown into respectable citizens. Think of it as a catalyst. He hasn't broken any laws nor has he ticked off half the City with disturbing pranks. The Dumonts had attacked him because they believed that by doing so, it would teach him to shut up and "respect his Elders" and it hasn't. So, it is quite possible that he might get attacked again.
