Well... they actually had to hire someone to make sure he bathed during the movies... so <.<
I don't like him personally, never have. I'm not a huge fan of Kristen Stewart either so they ruined the movie for me. I will openly admit that I loved the books minus the sparkling bit.
Anyone who wants to pelt me with rocks, find me in Alaska. I was very disappointed in the movie, and was forced to the movie theater about 12 times in two days to watch it including the premire. ._. I cheered anytime Jacob appeared on screen and was chased out twice by a mob of fangirls.

Hm...I wasn't chased out by a mob, but I was glared at several times for commentating about how much I hated Robert as Edward when I went to see Twilight. Rather entertaining, personally.
I'm going to end up getting drug to see New Moon eventually...
Decided that before that happens, I'm going to be getting a shirt that says "Team Alice" on it.

A soda had actually been thrown, but I was getting up to get more popcorn so it missed me and hit my Edward-obsessed sister. <.< I couldn't stop laughing.

I loved the books too...except for the sparkling BS. I actually LOL'd when I read that part. I was going to go see the movie with a friend of mine, but my bro ended up with a bootleg copy 2 days after the film hit theaters. I tried to watch it, but didn't get further than maybe 20 minutes in before I turned it off. Actually I'm not sure I even made it that far... Eh...maybe I'll have Scott's daughters bring it over this weekend and give it a try again.

I thought the first book was ok, probably the best. The second one had Jacob more so I was happy, but I was disappointed when it turned out Bella was just hearing Edward because she was...well, obsessed. I thought it was supposed to actually have meaning. Eclipse was eh, but Breaking Dawn was horrible in my opinion because the ending was happily ever after and cliche. Oh, and Jacob imprinted on Bella's daughter. I hated that. ._. When I saw the movie with my friend, people started cheering when Edward came on so I yelled, "Jacob's hotter!". Some people actually laughed. All the fangirls are really ruined it more me, I think. I mean, there were girls that got trampled at a Twilight event. Here's proof. (Modified to add movies.)

Tyra bitching against heat-of-the-moment violence is hilarious.
Also, fuck the books. This "I love the books but hate the movies" nonsense is still silly.

Why is it silly? A lot of movies based on books are changed so much or have lots of stuff cut out...kinda ruins it IMO. Take QotD...if I hadn't read the book, I might have liked the movie. But they butchered it.

I just could never get into Twilight. I don't think Stephanie Meyers is that great of a writer. She really didn't offer anything new to the scene with her books. It's just a cliche teen book. Classic love triangle bits. So she combined it with Lycans and Vampires. Big deal. You can get her books in a more adult fashion if you watch Underworld. I read one chapter of it and it annoyed the crap out of me. Now I got people trying to get my mom into it. Which makes me angry. I don't want my mom acting like other 30+ women lusting after Jacob when the actor himself has barely made it out of puberty. I liked Robert more in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because he got killed at the end. And yes. I am a diehard Harry Potter fan. I have all the books. I have all the movies. I've seen all the movies in theater. The past two years I've gone to the premieres at midnight. JK Rowling blows Stephanie Meyers out of the water. And the movies are incredible. Like any other fan, I can pick out things that were left out but as a whole...they're pretty close to the books. Twilight is just...the fighting in the book is just something added to push the love story. And I'm with Eri. It sucks that -now- everyone is into vampires. When I've been into vampires and werewolves for like 11+ years. And it's a shame to see their reputation get tarnished with books like those in the Twilight series. Cause those aren't the type of vampires I grew up on and fell in love with.

The main quality that HP has over Twilight is that HP teaches young children things (and it is, in essence, a children's book). I read the first book when I was 12 or 13 and it taught me a world of things about mythology, even if they were slightly bastardised for the sake of the plot. That was alright. From what I understand, it's not sitting badly from the stylistic point of view either (didn't read it in English at first, so I'm admittedly basing this on translated versions). Twilight just seems like... hormonal fan fiction, with the whole plot revolving around feminine anxiety. Ironically though, they're both bildungsromans; just that one does it more professionally than the other.
Further proof that Brits do it better <.<

Those older fangirls that're in their thirties kind of creep me out. Just the slightest. What bugs the crap out of me is when people try to compare HP and Twilight, or say that Twilight's better. Wrong! The day Twilight outdoes Harry Potter will be the day there's a snow party in Hell.

They're currently interviewing Stephanie Meyer on Oprah about the Twilight series. Oprah said Meyer's never even written as much as a short story and I just muttered, "It shows..."
Apparently the meadow scene where Bella found out Edward sparkles came to Steph in a dream.
