Game:: Vampires the Requiem WOD
So. Last night me and a few friends were gaming. It was a start out session for someone whos char was just created. Both that person and I have chars that were made yesterday for the purpose of letting her get to know and enjoy the game. This is all fine and dandy right? We make the chars and GM designs the game around what we can do, right?
Well when we start the game, were put into coffins, which we must push the lids off. Fine and dandy. Next we are in a room with a wood/steel door, which we can not break in any way shape or form. [We tried for at least an hour.] GM says the door opens and we leave that room. All doors from this point on are the same way. Will not open unless an outside force opens them. We go from room to room, being stuck in each for at least a half hour in real time.
Then we get to a room in which there is water and dead bodies, a latter and a giant window. Climb down the latter, into another room of water and dead bodies and a hole in the glass you can get through. My char, a Ventrue though I don't think that should make a difference, trys to lift up a human thats floating in that water and fails to period end of story. [Rolled about 50 times and couldn't pick it up. Honestly, Who will contest that a vampire can pick up a human easily?]
Swam through the hole, opened a porthole lookn door, then another, to enter into a room with a woman. [This is where I got peeved..] The GM's NPC is more powerful the we could be at just starting. She has a BP of like 6, All her shit maxed basically, and she is keeping us traped in another room we can not get out of. We can't hurt her because shes highly over powered. Can't leave because the doors are locked and its 6hrs from night. And to top it all off, she opens a door, runs out into the full sunlight, and takes NO damage and doesn't have to roll to see if she goes into Rotschreck [Frenzy over sunlight.]
Now what I want to know is, do you all see this as God Modding?
The GM who played says its not, that its fair. Last I knew, the game was supposed to be fun for the players over the GM, I will be surprised if the newbie will ever want to play again because it was boring, annoying, and we accomplished nothing besides pissing me off the entire time because we were in a situation we could do absolutely nothing about. GM controlled everything, even our actions to a point.
