I just like this game.
I don’t find the drama too much. I even find the ooc discussions to be interesting. Even when I’m under fire because I sometimes learn something new or I give a different outlook.
I like the people even the people I don’t know. I think they’re endlessly interesting, even if I don’t always agree with them. Even if I realise I’m nothing like them or have never talked to them. I still read what they have to say.
I’m probably slatted as one of the older grumpier players. Although, I’m still unsure how I got that distinction cause I’m certainly not a player that has been here that long in comparison to others. I do, however understand the grumpy part.
Since I do like the game and it’s been a past time for the last four years I thought it high time to say thank you to the other people that play the game.
Damari is a joy for me to write. She’s this awesome dynamo I’ve really enjoyed playing but she couldn’t have developed into what she is without the input, dynamic and drama that your own characters give to her. The character development I’ve been able to write for her wouldn’t have been possible if there weren’t the Moirai’s, Cerridwen’s, ophelia’s, Ents’ and Damiana’s in this city to be her antagonists.
So;
Thanks to those players who have characters in this game. You all do an awesome job of making this city interesting for me and I enjoy each different personality that’s put on the table, as a possibility for me to pit Damari against.
Thanks to those who moderate sites like these. I’ve been there, done it and realise how much investment in time and energy this sort of enterprise takes and I don’t take your contribution lightly and think this is an awesome site that has kept my interest (without pissing me off with unfair practices) for a year longer than I thought it would. I hope for another year for the site and your time as administrators of it.
I doubt I’ll say it before. Happy holidays to all. Some may not be Christian inclined so whatever your reason for the season, I hope it’s a good one and you’re all safe through the holiday period.
I’m not a mushy person but sometimes something must be said and it’s a good thing to say it so others can hear it and realise you appreciate their efforts.
See you all in the next round of Ravenblack Drama. Whatever that may bring.
Puawai <- feeling the joy… now if only the rain would piss off and let summer come back. – bloody Auckland weather is pretty hairy fairy at the moment.
Please feel free to give your own mushy little thank you if you wish…. Share the love. *cues sappy musical interlude*

I like you too, grumpy old lady! >.> But yeah, I agree, even though I don't play too much anymore since I've been occupied with my own stuff OOC, writing in RBC was sooo much fun when I was around more. I met a lot of really awesome people through here who I hope to stay in touch with for years to come. In fact, for Rena especially, some of her enemies were the most fun to RP with. But then, she does like to fight <.<

>> Wait your not a grump ooc who eats babies? << Darn it I just lost five dollars *sniffles* *cough* On a serious note I have to say Damari does crack me up, even if at times where my own charrie is just shaking her head She's definetly got her own style, and I'll pass on a compliment I once received myself. Which is that you have made her such a defining personage that I really can't not see pics of the face you have down for her and not think of damari. And I think all of us at times, have moments where we have to thank others, for really its not the game that keeps anyone here, its the interactions and the new levels our writing takes. For myself, rbc was my first real interactive rp and has probably helped my writing more then any of the dozen english classes I have taken. << But happy Holidays to you and everybody else

In about a month I'll be hitting the five-year mark with this game. There's been good times, bad times, no times at all... and I can't seem to stay away. And for that I thank everyone I've ever bumped into online, for making my time here an interesting experience to say the least. I've met some fantastic people and can't imagine what things would be like for me if I never found one silly little browser game all those years ago. Some people argue "the internet isn't real, go outside and do stuff." But I'd say some of my experiences online have been just as important as some offline ones. And that's all I have to say. No explanations, no stories, no insights for anyone... it's been a nice trip so far and I don't plan on stopping just yet.

Some people argue "the internet isn't real, go outside and do stuff." But I'd say some of my experiences online have been just as important as some offline ones. I know that! My brother got mad when he found out I met up with online friends and threatened to disown me if I did it again. "You can't trust these online people!" Well, some of these 'online people' happen to be my bestest friends, people that I would trust with my own life. Just because we're separated by oceans/lakes/seas/continents, doesn't make them any less human, neither does it mean they care any less.

You should point out to your brother that you're an "online people" for others. My parents react the same way. They're terrified to know I talk to others online. They call them "thugs", even if I've met the most awesome people online, and basically all of my best friends I've just learnt not to tell my parents things anymore. lol And Pwauai, you're a bit late! Thanksgiving was weeks ago. Thanks for Damari. She's fantastic to read, and makes this game much more fun. Same for a lot of other people >.> Some complain about there being too much drama in the DA, but if you practice moderation and basic etiquette and don't mingle with less discrete groups, you won't have anything to worry about. The game and the player community are often underrated; it's full of cool people who are genuinely interesting to talk to More than can be said for someone you meet in a club or a bar.

It's so weird to think "what if I hadn't clicked that link for the 'kinda boring but oddly addictive vampire site' my friend sent me when I was 15?" My life would be in a completely different place right now.

I know for a fact mine would be in a completely different place. I'd never have had the opportunities I have now if not for online interactions I've had. Like I was telling Steph after we wrote, she gave me some information back when I was a Junior in high school, and without that I wouldn't be at university right now. I'll always be thankful for that.
Let alone I'm researching Sociality and MMORPGs without exposure to RBC I probably would have never had any interest peeked into such a field. Online communities really are becoming communities, they fit the definition of "third places" which is where people come to interact and socialize.
I really do appreciate the friends I've met here, and the not so friends that have made me stretch as a person. I think everyone here has learned some lesson from these interactions. Some of the people here have been there for me through so much, and for that I'll always respect them.

I remember when 'Lissa was still in high school I think this game has given me some of the greatest friends. I've met my best friend ever, and i've adopted a few people younger than me as my own kids. It's funny how this crazy ass game about bloodsucking vampires can produce so many relationships. So thank you to this game, its players and the interwebz. Thank you to Puawai for bringing this thread up.

I'm just sayin'. >.> For all of the headaches the game has cause and will cause no doubt, I can't say as I'd trade the friendships I've made. There are a handful of people who play that have made my day and held me up when I couldn't on my own. I'm not usually one to gush on, but those people, I hope they know who they are, have made a big difference in my life. :]

This place I find is my break from everything I find shitty about my actual life, and just helps me unwind. I've met some of the best friends through here and I really wouldn't change it for anything.

Yes, Happy Holidays to Everyone! Merry Christmas to those that believe as I do and for those that dont, I hope you find whatever peace and prosperity it is you look for within your own religion or lack there of.
The city is always an interesting topic and its some of the bantering that keeps it lively.
Thank You Damari's human for starting such a thread!
edited for forgeting to make it OOC
