I have been in the city for a little while now, and I've made some friends and a few enemies in that time. I have had three sires in my past but those choices did not work out so well. I think perhaps because I had put so little thought into it. They just sorta happened. My next sire, I intend to be my last.
Now I pose this question you, the members of our vampire community. Would you sire me? And why or why not?
Keep in mind, I have no qualms with attacking a sire that abuses me or attempts to subjugate my free will.

Good luck with this. ;D

Would you sire me? And why or why not? Sure, why not? I'm already used to dealing with irritating assholes... ;D

I pose the question back...Why do you want one? If you want free will and don't want any abuse then wouldn't it be more apt to be what you are...a master vampire in charge of your own destiny?
This ain't bein assy...I'm honestly curious

You know what, I probably would. Despite the controversy that I've seen around you, you're a thinker, and I like that. Not to mention that I have something of a history of collecting somewhat unusual childer The real question is... would you REALLY want someone like me for a Sire ? My reputation is one of being pompous and arrogant, and of having a Sire of my own who is not exactly popular in some quarters. Not to mention the fact that I have a human secretary who demands inordinate amouints of my time, which can make me seem neglectful as a sire (which, of course, would give you all that freedom you so desire). But seriously, I think Rel may have a good point. Freedom is vastly underrated, and should be taken at every opportunity.

I would sire you because you're interesting. Good luck with this. ;D I am not looking for a sire. I am just curious as to who would sire me. And why they would do such a thing. Would you sire me? And why or why not? Sure, why not? I'm already used to dealing with irritating assholes... ;D To you, I'd be more like colon cancer than just an irritating asshole. ;D I pose the question back...Why do you want one? If you want free will and don't want any abuse then wouldn't it be more apt to be what you are...a master vampire in charge of your own destiny? This ain't bein assy...I'm honestly curious A sire is not someone that I see as being ones boss, but more of someone to guide the chylde in areas where they may be lacking. I see no reason why a Sire would have a need to be abusive. But if that is how you see the sire/chylder relationship, then I feel sorry for you. Despite the controversy that I've seen around you, you're a thinker, and I like that. Thank you. The real question is... would you REALLY want someone like me for a Sire ? Not to mention the fact that I have a human secretary who demands inordinate amouints of my time, which can make me seem neglectful as a sire (which, of course, would give you all that freedom you so desire). Pompous and arrogant? Hmmm... Is that attitude warranted in your case? I do not know for certain. Some pires can pull it off w/o creating dislike, and others just come off as delusional. You sir I have found to be inteligent and well spoken. But I can see why some would think you to be pompous and arrogant. I see you as maybe being old fashioned like black_dragonet. The more I get to read from you, the better I will get to know you. Only time will tell. I would sire you, Meph. Need you ask why? It wouldn't be to keep your fleas happy and entertained, now would it? ;D

Not at all, dearheart. We have a unique history, and none of it based on hatred towards one another. There is and never has been any bad blood between us. I have known you since the day I first entered the city and have always respected you, even when you spent many months doing all you could to obtain the ire of my once-grandfather.

Awww...Mephy...I'd sire you! Wait...no...that would be a little weird. LOL
Wow... um... out of the 3 sires you've had... one went all nutty...one went D&B...and one had you zeroed. I think you're cursed in the sire department dearest. And since you didn't really answer rel's question, I'll ask again. Why do you want one? Why do you need one? You're not the pire you used to be. You've matured and calmed down a lot without positive guidance from a sire. I've given you more positive guidance than any of you sires... you should just listen to me more often.
And remember Meph...darling...love of my unlife... your choice of a sire affects not only you but also me and our childer. IMO a sire should be wiser, more well known, and more respected than their childer. Keep that in mind please.

I don't know. While we've had some wonderful conversations I don't think you need me in any way. Not that my childer aren't for the most part self-sufficient but I do tend to "mom" them a bit. Just my nature. I get emotionally attached and am wary of anyone who has had a number of sires. Because when I sire I expect I will be the last and final sire. While I have had childer drop into shadows and die off I have not had any sever from me. I have only severed those unintended childer before the ability to limit them latching onto your line. So we would have to have discussions about your expectations and mine before I was sure it would work out.
I'm sorry that wasn't a very definite answer but I am not hasty about opening my heart.

Well while I've Sired more than my share of (what the rest of the City views as-) bad apples, I think in your case I'd give pause. My lot all share a common view that Family-Comes-First. And I can't say your views on Family loyalty have ever been very clear to me. And even though it might be funny for a half a minute, I tend to stray away from shits 'n giggles bindings. I have to agree with Boomer's statement of expecting to be a pyres last Sire. If I don't get that feeling, then I don't Sire. That's based off of the person's ability to get along with the rest of my lot, motivations in the City and motivations for the Family as a whole. Without alla that, I just wouldn't do it.

I think before I answer this I'll ask why as well. For you seem to think you don't really need guidance, and that perhaps a sire might try to hamper you. Or perhaps that is the general tone I am getting from your words. As your companion stated, it would affect you, her and any childre.
I am just as curious as rel as to why.

Why do you want one? Why do you need one? ...snip... Your choice of a sire affects not only you but also me and our childer. As hard as it is to beLIEve... I -do- have faults. With the right sire and proper guidance, I could overcome these shortcomings. I know that a sire for me would affect not only me but also you and our childer. Hence why I have been a master pyre for the past year and a half. IMO a sire should be wiser, more well known, and more respected than their childer. Keep that in mind please. Wiser, Better known and more respected... I disagree with the later two. It is conceivable that a sire would be good even if they tend to be the silent type. If they do not speak publicly, then they would not necessarily be better known or respected. As far as wiser goes... Optimally I can see that being a reason for seeking them out as sire in the first place. However, I could also see where after a time the chylde becomes wiser than the sire. in that situation should the chylde sever? Not necessarily. LOL, I'd sire you just for the 'what the fuck' moment. What the fuck?I don't know. While we've had some wonderful conversations I don't think you need me in any way. Not that my childer aren't for the most part self-sufficient but I do tend to "mom" them a bit. Just my nature. I get emotionally attached and am wary of anyone who has had a number of sires. ...snip... So we would have to have discussions about your expectations and mine before I was sure it would work out. I'm sorry that wasn't a very definite answer but I am not hasty about opening my heart. I am definitely not looking for a "mom". ...snip... My lot all share a common view that Family-Comes-First. And I can't say your views on Family loyalty have ever been very clear to me. Family does not come first for me. therefore we would undoubtedly not be compatible. Truth is what matters to me most. Truth is never changing and it is what it is. Others perception of truth may change, but that in itself does not change reality. Next comes my bound partner Genevive. Then comes Clan obligations when applicable. As long as I am clanned, I do for the clan because it is a choice. If I feel that my clan is no longer compatable with me, I will resign. Family would be next on my priority list. And finally all other vampires in the city. I think before I answer this I'll ask why as well. For you seem to think you don't really need guidance, and that perhaps a sire might try to hamper you. I definitely do need guidance. It is natural for me to be blunt and crass with anyone who I disagree with. And often I will speak first before contemplating the repercussions of my words. But a Sire need not play the "I'm your sire therefore you do as I say." card. In no way does guidance hamper one from doing what they want. One can choose to listen or not. LOL, I'd sire you just for the 'what the fuck' moment. Seriously... What the fuck? The thought of that makes me want to bathe in holy water.
