I like him. *Nods at Bambi* And I most definetly agree, those vampires that cling to human values annoy me, and the whole 'mummy (mommy)' 'daddy' thing irritates me. Why would you tell your parents? If your old, then they are probably dead. If your young, well, if you complained to Mummy, and she yelled at you, who knows, you might end up ripping her throat out to prove a point. Your vampires for crynoutloud, you ARE older than children, you are not babies. As for having childer that hate one another...well that makes life a little less boring, why not find something and pit them against one another. Either they continue scrapping and fighting, or they could possibly accept their differences and move on. But then again, this is Ravenblack City, such a complex concept is hard to grasp. Pity. Not like you have a sibling to argue with.

But I would be surprised if the general public wouldn't look down on an apparently hectic bloodline. I would relish in that actually, knowing that the complete loyalty to the sire is sound and that the childer actually have personalities of their own instead of worrying so much about what a paper may or may not surmise about a bloodline. I abhor severing for any reason besides breaking up with a partner. I realize I'm in the minority, yet I think that bloodline dynamics are a huge part of what makes this city exciting. Everyone getting along is booooooooooooooooring. BORING!

Hmmm... gotta disagree there. I think human values are fine - especially honor, integrity and honesty. What I think you meant to say is that you don't like assigning human familial relationships to vampires.

*nods* When we were sired, we ceased to be humans and became vampires. We did not suddenly become utter morons. Some might, but the vast majority of us did not.
I have never seen line relations as family ones, and I don't think I shall ever. I have no wish to change diapers, and I have yet to see a vampire toddler. There are few things I have kept from my past as a human, but I have kept values, among which those I value most are honour, integrity and honesty. Those values happen to not be human, but universal, even though some humans go by them.

What I think you meant to say is that you don't like assigning human familial relationships to vampires. I agree with this. I tried that whole thing with my first sire, and it never sat right. I never called Gevurah "father", nor will I ever call Seyda "mother". Somehow, though, I still feel it appropriate to refer to Maji, Lass, nitenurse, Delphine, and Wynd as my sisters. I also don't mind being called "Auntie Kat" as it is a nickname I've grown to admire. I also don't know how I'd feel about being called "mother" by my own childer. They tend to call me "Kat" or "ma'am". Point being, I had parents, they died; I had a son, he died. I'm a vampire now and thus ends my true familial ties. Anyway, I think I've gotten off topic a bit. Just wanted to throw that out there. *shrugs*

I don't really have quarrels with my siblings... Well, sometimes. On occasion, I guess? Hm. I don't think it would ever come down to a severance, though. I love J too much for that.
