I just have to add here: This is the EXACT reason the Gehyra were created! ;D Because torturing and killing for fun SO reeks of detachment, right? Or are they all like the leader who... isn't really neutral, is he? Yeah, more of a cluster fuck than the Midnights. Yes, well...all in an honest day's work.
The tiniest error forvigen creates a domino effect within a clan. The Gekkonids have gone far too long under a soft hand, and it has not only taken them from their original intent, but also weakened them. Perhaps there is a need to advertise?

Honestly I think this thread is more of a public service announcement than anything. I have heard past tales of when SoD was hired that no one knew who hired. Of course you could guess by thinking about who you recently irritated to the extremes; however legend goes the Splinters never told. Instead they took their beating, delivered in turn, and kept a tight lid on everything.
Now we see where it has been leaked, and now they are soliciting. I think Ophelia bringing this latest change has been a helpful thing to any who would be tempted to hire SoD. That their ability to follow their strictures is starting to disintegrate.

Poison Ivy answered my question so tossing insults on leadership, no matter WHO it was in reference to is just silly. If word gets out that someone is wanting to hit someone else a Splinter will follow up on said rumor to find out if they're interested in a contract. Unless I misunderstood something. While that is blatant solicitation to me, this is the protocol (as I've been advised by at least one other vampire) and has been for some time. This has simply been the first time I've ever heard of it being done in my time in the city, so I was naturally taken aback. As well, I do hope no one is under the impression that it was I that was possibly interesting in paying for a hit. If so, uhh..yeah, just no.
Thank you Poison Ivy for your patience AND your clarification. I sincerely appreciate it.

Perhaps you should just keep your mouth shut fool. Maybe, just maybe - A personal note was sent with the clarification and details that were requested. However, as it's a personal note, even you and your giant.....nose wouldn't be able to see it or know what it holds.
I can see a point as to why the whole thing was made public, and it might not be the same one as Ophelia's but it is a point. So maybe you should just look harder.
Or, maybe it's those green contacts you have in your eyes - Try taking them out so your view on everything isn't as jaded...... might be a start eh?! *giggles.. waves at Lass through her screen* Wow.. still as verbaly colorful as ever.
Eh.. maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but it sure got your panties in a twist.Shhhh...go back to your corner, keep your mouth shut, and you may be able to pull off this farce of being a strong and independent vampiress. Trust me...the more you open your mouth, the less of a shot you have.

*Sighs* I believe the question is still hanging in the air, yet no one has asked it. Ophelia, could word have possibly gotten around that you wanted to take out a contract on someone? If so, if anyone has heard this rumor, then the Splinter in question has fulfilled their duties on checking the rumor. If not, then let Miss Ivy know whom and what exactly they said and she will deal with her clan member in the way splinters deal with this kind of thing. It would be like me or another member of Ferrymen going about saying "We heard you wanted to start a war with us". At which point, ladypeacek would have to do something about it to hush us up. A simple question could clarify this entire mess. Rather than dancing about the question and immediatly defending the Codex (which yes, I've read, and I've been a splinter.) get all the information on the situation, and go from there. Otherwise, things don't look so good for your clan or yourself as a leader. Just my .02 I think the more you assume, the more stupid you appear. Just my .02. Oh, and that you is specific.

That's it. I'm gonna go get baptised. Seyda gave out tongue lashings, and didn't even acknowledge me with so much as a polite "go fark yourself meph."

It may be seen as a solicitation however if I did not make an effort to contact contractors then Vampires would Complain that SoD doesn't do what we say we will anymore. I would rather the later.
Andriel, Vespertine, nice to see you both around. Though I will say that you have little room to talk Vesp. If only White could see you now.

If someone contacted you and you didn't follow through on that contact, then yes, people would state that you don't follow through on your claim. Chasing after contacts, however, makes you look desperate. I wasn't aware that the economy had struck this city like some other places in the world...

Unfortunately, a case I've seen, the person to which a Splinter inquired if they wanted to take out a contract had NOT wanted to take out a contract and had never had any intention of, nor ever said they had any desire to take out a contract. That doesn't sound much like a good neutral protocol to me.
