You know, you scream slander so much I'm surprised you're not closely related to tejas. Let me help you:
slan⋅der /ˈslændər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [slan-der] Show IPA Use slander in a Sentence See web results for slander See images of slander –noun 1. defamation; calumny: rumors full of slander. 2. a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report: a slander against his good name. 3. Law. defamation by oral utterance rather than by writing, pictures, etc.
It's only slander if it didn't happen. Let's try and keep up, shall we?
Needless to say, the fact that you also assume that I don't read what goes on in my own newspaper simply proves you that much more ignorant to the City as a whole. Not only was I an active reader of that topic but I do believe that I'm perfectly aware of many things that also went on behind the scenes that you do not believe I am aware of. Perhaps you should choose to underestimate your opponents in debate on the belief that you are "a great businessman" but it most certainly doesn't make you good at argument.
It's hardly petty that someone is holding you responsible for your poor actions and that people are not going to want to do business with you because of it. It's how the City works... in fact, it's how LIFE works so whether you are the walking undead or a human you should perhaps make yourself well-acquainted with that before you cry foul that someone isn't letting you get away with being a dick to well-established members of a community that you are trying to insert yourself into. You made a mistake. Work hard and prove that it won't happen again and perhaps someone might take your future endeavors seriously. In the meantime, no.

Funny, seeing as I was the one who pointed out your transaction with Black_Dragonet, and where i barely know him, how does that constitute whining? having discovered this deal of yours after this ad, your business ethics is indeed called into question. How can we trust that you're not going to make another "mistake" and people lose their coins?

It's slander because he called me a lier when I never lied. It was the truth of the matter that pissed him off. And now my name is fucked because of a trivial mistake in wording. All I want to do is set up a business enterprise. This is my soul ambition in the city. And now my name is fucked because of this? I'm done trying to defend myself. I am going to run this and my future endeavors (which have plenty originality, seeing as you are so concerned) fairly and well. My work will stand for itself. This nonsense will all be forgotten once I start my work and people see for themselves what I am all about. And Coquette, don't project your personal vendetta with valens onto me. Seeing how loud you get over something so petty is really all I need to stop caring about your over-investment in my failure. ((Edited to add quote, cause I haven't always been clear exactly who I was talking to))

How can we trust that you're not going to make another "mistake" and people lose their coins? That's a fair question. And I apologies for my reaction. I felt attacked, but I need to move past that. As as for not making a mistake and loosing people their coins, this is why I'm not jumping the gun and starting this off right away. I am putting a lot of thought and planning into this. I have aspirations beyond this one venture. It is in my best interest to offer a great service, so that my future businesses will be greeted more warmly when I am ready to put them into effect. All I can give you now is my word. If that means nothing to you, well the only way I'll be able to amend that is by continuing with this, on whatever scale it turns out, and doing it right.

Seriously, shut up about it. If you weren't so quick to defend your honor and integrity, everyone would have dropped it by now. Do yourself a really big favor and just stop talking about it. Really.
One slave auction is bad enough. Remind me why we need another one? What's 40% more of... 0?

I agree that one is bad enough. Why we would fuel someone else's bank is completely beyond my comprehension when it's already hard enough for some 'pires to acquire a good sum amount of gold. Then again Im sure thats why people do this.

My personal vendetta with Valens? You have even less of a clue of what's going on in this City than I thought.
Perhaps if you handled your business endeavors with honor from the get-go, your name wouldn't be "fucked".

Perhaps if you handled your business endeavors with honor from the get-go, your name wouldn't be "fucked". Yeah, but I have a pretty good idea what's going on with you. Honestly, in any other part of the world you wouldn't be on my radar. So save the hatefulness for someone who gives a shit.

Some helpful advice, Luke.
Refrain from sticking foot in mouth in public.
And to add some statements on this A slave auction isn't all about the money sometimes, Live auctions have been done in the past and it seems that it was really quite hard to manage them.
If you want to make a legitimate business, deal with your patrons fairly and go through the extra effort to make them happy, even if there is some sort of loss to you. That is how you make a reputable name for yourself.
Until them learn to not be so hotheaded, save it for the times of war.

Good luck on your business venture. I truly do wish you the best.
I would suggest a bit of an attitude adjustment. No one is going to want to deal with someone who exhibits hot headed behavior and cannot keep their cool when under pressure, be it negative or positive. If you've really learned from the fiasco previously mentioned, then even better!
Again, good luck.

Chillax, broski. I never said any wrong about you giving 90%, that's surely a better "deal" than the original Auction.. I simply said I don't see why people would give others money in their bank for a week of having them as a slave. It's nonsense, to me. That's money I could be out buying weapons with!

I believe that says it all. Though I hate to be rude, but your interaction with dragonet, and as well your youth, do not play well in this scenario where many would be ending up giving you their precious coin. Though perhaps you could join forces with others and redeem yourself, you never know. That black dragonet thing still being talked about? I never in my life heard someone whine with such an echo before this. Fucking hysterical. Well if you don't trust me, my grandsire Valens Dragosee is partner in this. Gallagher is also lending a helping hand. And all the pessimism here is so boring. Liven up. "I will bitch and shit on anything new and different because I'm a sad gloomy gus vampire and it'll all fail anyway... everything fails." Skrilla Saves is happening. And it's gonna be a smash. Lets just accept it shall we? Love, instead of automatically throwing up a wall and ignoring what everyone is trying to say, read back over it with a calm mind. A lot of it you can use to your advantage, if you truly are a business man. These aren't bums and scrubs, these are well aged 'pires and know what they are talking about. Take they're advice and comment's in stride, be it positive or negative. And you'd might be surprised at the results. Seriously, shut up about it. If you weren't so quick to defend your honor and integrity, everyone would have dropped it by now. Do yourself a really big favor and just stop talking about it. Really. One slave auction is bad enough. Remind me why we need another one? What's 40% more of... 0? Also a very good point....

Between both your past business transaction as well as your reaction to comments by others here, I for one will be hard pressed to do business with someone who appears to lack both business integrity and self control when dealing with objections by potential customers. I'm not saying you lack these two things, however, outward appearances are everything in business. If a customer thinks you're out to screw them over, then you are. There is no changing that belief, specially if there looks like there is a past of shady dealings.

This should be over with. My only mistake was that I forgot to label that last sell an auction. I owned up to that. This says auction in the *title*. Ya don't have to worry about that issue. And to an extent, it is whining. Because he went the extra mile slander my name and call me a 'deceiving lier' when it was perhaps the most honest sell of its kind in RB history. He just didn't like the way it went down. There will be contracts with the Skrila Slave auction. No one will have to worry about those types of blunders because we are taking extra time in the setting up of this just so everything runs smoothly and without a hitch. And if you really want to make this a topic of discussion, I'd like it if you could make a separate thread elsewhere so as not to distract from the point of this thread. The auction. Make a separate thread and I promise to address all concerns given to me. It's slander because he called me a lier when I never lied. It was the truth of the matter that pissed him off. And now my name is fucked because of a trivial mistake in wording. All I want to do is set up a business enterprise. This is my soul ambition in the city. And now my name is fucked because of this? Seeing how loud you get over something so petty is really all I need to stop caring about your over-investment in my failure. First, I would like to state that Everyone makes mistakes, even I, though I do not think I made any in my dealing with Luke. I think everyone should be left a possibility to prove they have changed. I said I did not want to comment this old story. I let pass the first attack on my motives out of friendship for your sire. The second one however I shall not let go without answering… However you try to twist it, you are not telling the truth, only the truth, and all of the truth. You offered an item for sale, and at one moment, we agreed on the price and what was being sold. Fellow vampire people call it a done deal. At no moment before you accepted my offer did you state that there was a misunderstanding, and that it was an auction. Then, after the deal was done, you had someone come to you and outbid me. Then, and only then, you did decide that this was no sale anymore, but an auction, thus proving me that you were not a trustable business partner. At no moment did I “whine”. Nor did I slander your name. I stated facts, facts I gave proof of. Of course I did not like the way it went down, and I stated that I did not want to make any business with you anymore. Did I ask others to not do any business with you? I don’t think so. What I did is tell how disappointed I felt. I suggest the fellow reader goes to the discussion in question. It is located in this “business” section, and bears the name “sold, closed”. There you shall see the cold facts and the abovementioned discussion. You shall notice that my first two replies were rather controlled, and that only in the third one was I somewhat angry. Was I wrong? Tell me. In my third reply, I let go of righteous and justified anger, yes. Deal with it. Or not. I am not slandering you. I let that to you, for you do it way better than I could or would. Learn to control yourself, think before you speak, and with time, I feel you should become someone worthy. Get rid of that mouthing tendency though, it does not serve you.
