Hon listen...I understand all that, but to me the situation is black and white. If you fell, then you fell regardless if it was senseless, if you were fucked over, or if it was intentional because of who you're related to in bloodline and you were a sacrificial kill. Just because it isn't justified doesn't mean it didn't happen. If it happened to one of mine? And they weren't in the fray? I would make it my mission to take them all down over and over for killing them and want them to pay for what they did. I would do that. As your sire, or as your leader. Childer, or students as the case may be, get hit all the time because of who they associate with. Wars have begun for less. Wives or husbands gone after because of what or who their partner is. Going after someone's heart is basic war tactic. You know that. We're gonna be on opposite sides of this. I don't think it's physically possible for one to be running around after being zero'd without the help of a wheelchair, and a voice activated computer to type what they whisper until they get back on their feet.

I would personally, after coming out of unconsciousness, want hookers and whiskey to help tend my wounds. Me too, very much so.

I use a cane actually...and I peck at the keyboard with one finger on each hand...makes it difficult, but it serves the purpose.

Well, I wanted to comment before this thread got old. Besides that, I'm resting, NOT taking torpor and I'm not speaking on current issues at hand. Even more besides that, my forced rest is up in a mere 3 days time. So here you are going against what your clan leader instructed to the public that the CLAN would do. Nice job dick head. Fuck I realise this concept may be hard for you to fathom, but when your CLAN LEADER, and excuse me for treating you like you lack the sense to understand, but obviously you don't get the subtlety here, tells you that you can't speak in a public NEWSPAPER. Then you shouldn't do it. I do believe you lack the sense god gave maggots. At least they have the sense to evolve into disease carrying flies.

Agreed. If every Ferrymen is taking their torpor whichever way suits their own personal needs, then the leader shouldn't have bothered with a statement of the Ferries' general torpor guidelines. Nor should we be expected to even acknowledge it, given the members' behaviour.
Personally, I find it a little less than amusing how the concept of torpor has slowly been bastardised as new generations occupy the spotlight. You might even stop calling it torpor once you hit the big 0.
Sad. But to each their own.

Hey now, some of us newer generations of vampires appreciate the meaning and purpose of torpor.

Did you always? I only ask out of curiosity, based on who is originally allowing the tradition and honestly the reality of the situation to fall away...besides, this isn't just the newer generation.

I don't know that I'd say "always". But soundly within a month of coming to the city, yes.

I am of this ' newer generation ' I suppose, and I appreciate the meaning of torpor. It's why I bow out of a fight for two weeks, even if I know I'll be walking, and talking the next day.

I'm out of the fight for two weeks. Whatever. Doesn't mean I'm incapable of talking or moving. Bloodless doesn't mean lifeless...just means we haven't eaten much lately

My thoughts on torpor: I sit out of the war for 2 weeks. I rest for the first day in my crypt and return to the City that night so I can bite humans to regain my strength. It is easier to sneak up on those unsuspecting humans when you are in a ghostly form I do not speak in public because quite frankly how many psychics are there in the City who can hear a ghost speaking? Not many I am sure. That is just my preference.

Okay. I can respect that but WHY are you a ghost? Does having no blood take away the fact that you have a corporeal body? It doesn't for me. Being hit with Holy Water doesn't take away my corporeal body. If it did, I'd have no body after two weeks, because it's not like the old one gets busted and I grow a whole new one. And if that were the case, nobody would look the same after being zeroed because their old image would be completely destroyed by the acidic water. The ghost thing holds little merit for me because it's COMPLETELY inconsistent. Being hit with Holy Water wouldn't make you a spirit. It'd make you too weak to fight, surely, but it doesn't "kill" you in any sense of the word nor would it destroy your body. That just makes no sense. If it did, nobody would come back after torpor, because an incorporeal body is incapable of feeding on corporeal beings.
