You woke up one morning and found that you were unable to "Give Coin" to anyone in the city. Your funds were only available to you with no way to give coin to other vampires. I've wondered about this for some time, with so many vampires being caught passing coin unlawfully to thralls...
Would you throw your toys out of the cot and leave the city? Would you lay off all your servants and face the economic crunch by buying less roses for your loved ones? Would the city become a less populated place? Less blue banks, a place where a vampire could stroll through the city streets without fear of being sucked dry at every turn as though he were walking through a mosquito infested swamp? No more city hits for coin ... would everyone just go insane and have a huge Holy Water fest and then stomp off to sulk? How would that affect war strategy in the city? What would you do - hypothetically speaking?

I'd take my coin, buy weapons with it, and do what I usually do. *shrug* What I wouldn't do, however, is employ a bunch of vampires, use an automated GPS system to run them around, and then crumble in a pile and cry my eyes out if they got struck down dead.

GPS sends people without half a brain driving off of bridges and into rivers just because a mechanized voice told them to.

Personally, I would not care in the least. It would do many vampires some good if they were forced to do all their work themselves instead of having thralls shuffle around and do everything for them.

What I would do? Go insane from boredom perhaps, because then we'd have even less fights than we do already.
The problem isn't giving coin to others and not working for ones self. Well, not universally... The problem is the mentality that everyone wants to have their cake and eat it. You want to be rich, but you want to have time left over for play. Most of the people doing this are clanned, I'm willing to bet. And the obituary for proper, old school clans is long overdue. The tradition of separate houses meant for fighting, thieving, collection information and etc. is all but dead on account of the immaturity of the many who think they have to be one of the kool kids and throw HW once in a blue moon.
I've worked as a coin collector for others and as a consumer of coin from others, and I've found there's equal pleasure to be had from both, mostly because fun as it is to fight, the occasion doesn't come by that often. So when thieving for others to have their fun, at least you're doing something other than sitting on your arse and waiting for the choleric level to grow. But of course others find the position of thief to be positively degrading, absolutely shameful (nevermind 'fighters' are 'vegetables' 80% of the time, in recent history).

Do you use a map? LIAM, DAIM, excel based, web based? Do you go to a view in the dark to get shop or hunter locations for yourself or others? The COVE? FTA? When you weren't fully powered, did you receive guild locations...at all? Then please do us all a favor and pull your condescending head from your tight little sphincter. The mapping of this city, the shop locations, the guild locations....that all comes from the work of thralls. It drives me CRAZY when whiny assed vampires (a general statement) sit on their high horse and bitch about working thralls as they sit with their fucking maps in their hand that were created due to working thralls while they go to Discount Magic, the location of which was found due to working thralls and go buy weapons with coin their mom and dad gave them, which was probably generated from a working thrall. So, a general message for all of you whining little bitches. Go fuck yourselves and get off our shops, guilds, hunter locations, and maps. Go map your own shit out and hunt for guilds with you yourself. Oh yeah, that's right. You really can't do that now, can you???

Unless you've been in every clan the city currently has, this comment is really nothing more than your opinion being presented as some sort of fact. The rest of it is so full of generalizations I'm not even sure what to touch and what not to.

Lord ravenblack would never take away our ability to give coins. How else would he collect money to buy the latest greatest pair of shoes after resurecting some law breaker for the umpteenth time?

In the situation posed by Sorcha, we are discussing only coin transfers; not thrall usage in general. Speaking of "high horses," you appear to have one as well. Or perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying. In my early months of the city, when I had no knowledge of anything, I began to create a map for my personal use. However, I soon found that there were already pre-existing maps, and thus my endeavor was tossed away; there was no need to continue. I would have indeed kept at it, if a map was unavailable to the masses. Yes, I do use thralls -- but to find things for other ungrateful vampires, and not to dishonorably inflate my own bank account. If you check A View In The Dark I often post the locations of guilds, shops, and vampire hunters. Not so much lately, but I have still listed almost six hundred entries. Can most others, including yourself, say the same? No. Again, we are speaking merely of the ability to pass coins around. If vampires did not have an obsession with being fully powered, it would be not be impossible for several to get together and find guild locations. Others could then fill in whatever shop locations remained.

Unless you've been in every clan the city currently has, this comment is really nothing more than your opinion being presented as some sort of fact. The rest of it is so full of generalizations I'm not even sure what to touch and what not to. As a pessimist, I'm either proven right or enjoy being proven wrong. So please, contradict me and shoot those presumptions down with evidence. As for clans, how many are around anyway? Ygg, RoR, Ferrymen, L'Inconnu, HA, SoD, Ventrue, and I'm hesitant to add The Sun Clan, mainly because they don't do wars. Out of those, how many have been aggressively active in the last 12 months? 4 of them? I'll admit I've never explored any curiosity towards Ventrue but I wouldn't find it beneath them to use thralls (on the other hand, they preach honor, dignity, and a whole load of other such unseemly things). I know it's common to have thralls in Ferrymen; HA don't seem holy enough to abhor this manner of efficiency and if RoR takes anything after the republic that seems to have inspired it, they don't either. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not aiming for a pissing match (no pun intended), but a debate. Do SoD use thralls? They discourage it. Do L'In use thralls? They're too young and secretive to tell, though we could ask them. And to make anything but presumptions about Ygg's internal order would doubtlessly contradict its discreteness.

Or perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying. There wouldn't much to talk about if it were only the ability to pass coin though. Strictly speaking, the topic is as you said, but we can all guess what the muse for it was When it comes to any potential disability to pass coin, Mephisto hit it on the head. On the other hand, there have been known payments made to RB himself, in exchange for city currency. And that's even more sickening than thrall use to me...
