I certainly welcome you to point out the examples you're talking about. I think in matters that need to be taken care of, any responsible leader will do whatever it takes to get a peaceful resolve and well, if that doesn't happen, then I suppose yes, there is foot stomping, etc etc etc. But underhanded? No. To you of course it may seem like that. You were on the loosing team and generally anyone on the loosing side will gather as much. But yeah.. please... enlighten us now that you've broached the subject and brought yourself into this discussion m'dear, of how underhanded I truly am. I would, however unlike some I made promises to people that I intend to keep. In case you need elaboration on that, I have promised not to mention names simply because if I did, it would hurt people even though said events are years past. No, Maj, I'm not speaking about Mafia. That was simply a case of your wounded ego not being able to handle clan orders and trying to involve yourself more than you should have. Also, I'm taking the human out of town this weekend, so any further comments to me on this will fall on deaf ears until about Monday. As always I will have my cell and mailboxes open in case anyone wishes to ask private questions, but they will have to wait until Monday as well. Ta!

Come in, make statements and not be able to back them up. If you weren't 'allowed' to speak of such instances, then perhaps you shouldn't have made mention of them at all. Subterfuge.
But of course Mandolin, we all know that our history isn't sterling or even crystal so this doesn't surprise me in the least that you'd stoop to something like this. You talk a big game but when it comes down to it... fizzzzzz
Of course I too am available privately if you're allowed to enlighten me there. Otherwise, audios.

I won't say simply because I made a promise, and I keep my word. If I had the honor of one such as yourself I'd be spilling names and dates left and right P.S. Yeah, I know I'm supposed to be gone... it was just too tempting!

Poison Ivy answered my question so tossing insults on leadership, no matter WHO it was in reference to is just silly. If word gets out that someone is wanting to hit someone else a Splinter will follow up on said rumor to find out if they're interested in a contract. Unless I misunderstood something. While that is blatant solicitation to me, this is the protocol (as I've been advised by at least one other vampire) and has been for some time. This has simply been the first time I've ever heard of it being done in my time in the city, so I was naturally taken aback. As well, I do hope no one is under the impression that it was I that was possibly interesting in paying for a hit. If so, uhh..yeah, just no. Thank you Poison Ivy for your patience AND your clarification. I sincerely appreciate it. ~HiS~ ...I had to search for this through all the crap. Looks like the original statement was answered. Why is this still going? I'm still trying to figure out what sparked the 'my tits are bigger than your tits' argument with everyone, but kudos cuz it's freaking hilarious as ever. Ah... *scratches his head* Someone linked me to this page, so I s'pose I'll give my opinion? Everyone seems to have one here anyways... I think a subject like this did bare public-notice. Maybe not with such inflamatory verbage, but hey if it gets the point across why the hell not? It was indeed a question posed to a CLAN, rather than an individual. And that's fair. Sometimes the Clan leader isn't around when you want an answer. And hell, there's more than a few SoD'ers lurking around. So the question was likely to be answered, for EVERYONE, here in public. *Glances over his shoulder, flicking the nose of a likely grumbling boyfriend before returning to le typing.* Anywho; glad to see this got answered. I do remember a time of being propositioned by Splinters a few years ago, though. So I doubt this is anything new, to be honest. Y'all can return to your hissing and clawing and whatnot now. I guess.

*bows* Sorry, folks, I just couldn't refrain myself, after all these posts...
I have been in the city quite a time now. In all these years, I have avoided any form of contact with the Splinters of Dusk, either as a target or as a contract. I do not hate them, they have their own form of honour, but it just cannot coexist with mine, se I try to keep my way separate from theirs. "Know thine enemies" says an old saying, so I tried to gather some information about them. Until recently, very recently, I thought that the Splinters were purely neutral, as in were fulfilling contracts only when people asked. I have few known grudges, and I tend to deal with these in my own straightforward way. If I had gained the knowledge that Splinters were approaching people to talk to them about contracts, I would have been angered, because this seemed contrary to what I have known of their behaviour until now. I would thus have made quite exacly the kind of request for information ophelia did: Something with a little irony and pike, for with regard with my current information, this was contrary to what they professed they were doing. Hence I'd have asked my question in a rather abrasive way.
If you read it again, ophelia's statement was a lot less abrasive than such a request from me would have been. A quick back and forth took place, and that's when the answer to the question asked was given. Then others jumped in, starting to derail, and Lord Galamushi, whom I thank for the magic box made a slight misunderstanding that was a bit harshly corrected by ophelia, something which didn't cause any reaction from Galamushi.
What I see then it people trying to make others appear as if they were bullies, and inflaming tempers. I say Majica had no cause or justification trying to make ophelia look like a bully. The rest is overheated tempers and old grudges. I find that ophelia has kept her temper completely under control, and responded rather calmly until now, rather objectively too, which I cannot say from some others. Ignoring opinions because they do not match yours isn't the best of ways to show one is being objective.
So I am not going to give orders, just point that a question has been answered, and the answer to that question given in the first page... Maybe it's time to remaining on topic. Majica, I like you, but from the beginning of this discussion, you've been the one fueling the fire. Please stop. There are other ways to address the issues you have with Seyda.

Ok, I honestly stopped reading this thread a while ago, however...
ophelia, do you mind if I ask why you believe it to be biased?
If you would like we can take the convo to PM.

I believe solicitation as it initially appears to be biased because rather than waiting for someone to contact your organization, you seek them out. Who is to say that someone in your organization does not bear a grudge against another and seeks out someone who is weak enough to agree to a contract by suggestion (weak as in not handling their affairs themselves)
However, as you stated in the first page of this thread and to my comment, it is the organizations practice to follow up on rumors. So if one is swirling about that a vampire is pondering a contract on another, someone will follow up on it ( I would presume in the event that the vampire may not know how to contact SoD, or may simply be nervous with initiating contact). With that being said, it removes at least partially the bias that flat out solicitation can present and clarifies it substantially for me. And as I said when you responded the first time, I will repeat it. Thank you for the clarification.

PS: As well I appreciate the offer of an answer in private, but its a perfectly legitimate question, and as you answered mine a few days ago here, you deserve no less of a courtesy than an answer in the same format.

Thank you, and yes, it's typically because the one in question doesn't know how to contact us.
As for the rest of the...stuff...in this thread. Find a different place to fight, please and thank you.

I just have to add here: This is the EXACT reason the Gehyra were created! ;D Because torturing and killing for fun SO reeks of detachment, right? Or are they all like the leader who... isn't really neutral, is he? Yeah, more of a cluster fuck than the Midnights. A chuckle would pass those lips as she read the post which had been presented to her attention by none but Andriel himself. A smirk of those fine tiers as she typed out a reply to the woman's misguided antics. Sister to her siress or not, this did not apparently allow the woman any further guidance. Who said it was for fun? Someone must make rights of wrongs done. Perhaps the Gekkonoids will learn that one must stay true to what they have given their name. There comes a time when ideals and doctrines must be defended, though you wouldn't know anything about that now would you...childe of Andre, the great hypocrite of his day? Betrayer, even of his own blood and kin?

oOoh man! *laughs to herself* Sorry Seyda. Even you can't make me believe that one. Not with how many times you asked me to reconsider. WHO asked you to reconsider? Answer carefully. Since no one bothered to answer that question... *raises hand* I believe that I did.
