So, as of recently I severed my first, and only childe. I don't feel like going into detail, but what is everyone's opinion on siring? Do you prefer to Sire those who are fresh to the city, none or barely any powers? Or are you more into more experienced Pire's, who have already got a handle on what to do, but do still need help on what goes on in the city, and how to keep themselves out of trouble?

Those mid-powered kids are nice to grab a hold of. Right hard to keep a hold of nowadays though.

I hope they're hard to 'keep hold of' nowadays. They're vampires, not possessions.
On that note, new or not, it's all moot as long as there is a genuine bond between the potential Sire and the potential child, etc.

My childer were all fully powered and active members of the clan when I sired them. Likewise, I was fully powered when I bound to my sire. Everyone has different reasons and goals for the relationship and why you choose to make that connection whether it be learning/ teaching/ mentoring or friendship. I chose the mentor path and will continue to do so.
Taking a raw, newly turned pire and helping them find there way in the city would have it's own rewards but takes a special sire to do it and the time and energy to do it right.

I don't mind taking on someone who is not fully powered, but I would never take on more than one at a time. I see pires doing this and it just seems like it's asking too much of everyone involved. Quite often the newest ones require much more attention than the rest.
To date, I've sired four, and kept three of those, one of which came in as a fresh bite. She's actually still working on those powers despite having been in the city for over a year now. But that's her own pace and that works for her, so I'm there for her. There were a couple of others I sired fresh via my own bite who I'm not counting because after about a week in the city, they found they couldn't hack it.
Currently, I don't know that it would be the right time for me to take on any more childer. Me and mine have found a nice niche and they each seem to be okay with my lessening activity in the city.
I think it is up to each individual to find out what works for them in terms of how to sire and how they like to work with their childer. I look at Seyda and find myself amazed that she's able to keep up with all... *pauses to count* nine of us is it? I have learned that I don't think I could ever handle that many, but she makes it look easy.

Well, since I don't have any childer, I feel like I shouldn't put something in, but I think getting new ones with like.. Maybe a few powers, helpin' 'em out with some, then sirin' 'em is good.. God, I want childer, now.

I have childer. No idea who they are, though. I just pick random humans and fuck up their lives permanently.

I adopted for my childe, but it was more because it felt right and the relationship was there. And that is what truly matters at the end of the day. If I need to teach them what to do what not to do, powers, or otherwise it matters not as that all comes within the dynamic of the relationship.
I see the relationship between sire and child to be that of friendship, mentor/mentee, and occasionally a myriad of other things. And that is what makes it really worth having.

To give Kyo company... I don't have any childer either. Probably because I don't want any. I have seen one or two that made me want to go against my personal 'no siring' policy, and I don't remember if they were fully powered or not... But I didn't care either. I just liked them, and they seemed clever and classy or at least interesting. The kind of people I like getting into conversations with (sans insults). Basically, persons I can respect, but also teach and be of use to until they chose to sever. Because binding is the first step to severance, after all, and nothing lasts forever. But I might as well have enjoyed the company. Oh well. Guess not.

Sorry to go off subject slightly, but when you take a human and turn them, does it make a stronger bond then when you adopt an already turned vampire? I'm just curious as I'm new to this way of life and so far it seems everyone has vastly contrasting opinions on everything.

I agree with ophelia. It shouldn't really matter what the stats are if there is a potential connection between Childe and Sire. But -- Gryp and I really connected, but I think I only talked to him a whole whooping four or five times after I sired him, then never heard from him again. I guess it's one of those things you have to really be sure of, which I thought I was. It was my first time siring, so I guess it was just one of those things I needed to experience.
