Why was the vampire thought of as simple-minded? Because he was a complete sucker.
OK, that's my vampire joke contribution.

Immortality is wasted on beings such as ourselves. As Idony said, so many drawbacks is part of the cost. He wants someone reckless, wild, ready to take on any challenge and not give a damn about anything in the process and still come out the winner, at least that is what I am getting out of this. If immortality and our unique conditions teaches us anything, it should teach us how fragile that gift truly is. There have been a couple like that in this place before, but where are they now? Gone and truly dead-some never to return, and when some have returned, they are hollow shells of what they once were. Riding on a reputation they can no longer back up as they once did. To be such a thing has its risks in the long term of existence, to be sure. So, can you tell us who might have all the parts to be this 'vampire' you seek? Obviously not, so you must be, logically, including yourself in this group of loosers you speak of. Just because someone cries 'hey, something is wrong with this' does not exempt them from the problem they are crying about. So I suggest you find a medium and enjoy a nice cup of tea while they channel the spirits of the legends for you and take all the notes you can and try very hard to become what it is your seeking. Good luck with who you are searching for. I doubt you will find one who can run at maximum and stay on top of it all forever. No one has, not even the legends that fill our history here. There is a wisdom to your words. You have insight, this much is so. But you lack vision. Somewhere along the lines the true Way became distorted to us. We as a society have fallen horribly off course. Weak and easily misguided. Sheep in wolves clothing. But this does not have to be the way. There is a greater devine enlightenment that we have forsaken as a people. Our place is not rallied in lackluster and wanting clans. Not entombed in this refugee camp that is Ravenblack city. Throughout all history the powerful have always ruled. And who is more powerful than us? Even the greatest lords of old.. from our perspective their empires crumble just as quickly as their sons' bones turn to dust. This is where we surpass them. As undying we are entitled to greatness. But our minds must be open. The status-quo is a lie. Don't just eat up every scrap of this questionable Vampiric "Honor" which in reality is a poor and thinly veiled cover for the pride of a few puppeteers in this city who wish to pull all of our strings. There are false prophets among us. Open your minds to the infinite possibilities. I know there are those among us, silent but aware of these truths. Stand tall. It is our time.

Sarcasm is the refuge of a shallow mind. And empty posturing is the refuge of an ignorant jackass. But then again, you who presume to judge others when you're in no position to judge any vampire in this city other than yourself. The city might have become a joke in your eyes, but nothing is a bigger one that yourself these days ~HiS~ One of the great puppeteers you are. Though the meaning of 'greatness' is very questionable. You speak out of how I am a joke. I can say or do nothing of relevance. That I am a nothing worthy of no ones time. Then why is it that you must challange me? Why is it that you need to debunk the realities I am speaking of. You have never been able to ignore me. Because you understand how much of a threat to your Way I could be. False prophets. Fake prima donnas. There will come a time when the silent strong among us will see that your Way has no true substance. Is there no greater destiny for your grunts and all grunts alike other than living sub-servent to your will and that of the other puppeteers? I see this human weakness in you and your words. And like with the humans there will come a changing of the guards, so to speak. So enjoy your clout.

*Slender fingers typed softly on keys of a brand new labtop as the temptation that lay within this vampires need for attention along with his contradictions proved to much. One quote among many was chosen and shown as she replied. Hazel eyes gleaming with amusement at the computer.*
"The better question sir is why you choose to challenge everyone. For it was not the lady ophelia who started this, twas your own need for self seeking attention in the way that the youngest of our kind do. Why should she or anyone bother to debunk your false words when there are no actions of yours to be seen. If your the only vampire around this city, then prove it. If not then perhaps find a mirror and Dr. Phil. For I doubt any of us are going to stand here giving you the self help you need. And as for your words to my brother Vermathrax. It seems the only truth I can find in your carefully random ramblings designed to provoke, of what we are supposed to be and not, is that he is wise. What a nice compliment hidden in such closed labeled statements."
*An eyebrow quirked in amusement as she hit reply and then waited for the male to jump up and proclaim how he had proven himself to all and that the city obviously lacked those he needed to prove this against.*

If you look at it from a certain point of view, If you look at anything from a certian point of veiw it can easily become something else. It is a skill to be able to twist facts into forming new and convient truths. Old tricks that ultimatly mean nothing.

If you have no vision I can't show you a thing. One thing though, you clearly have no idea what these words mean, so out of your own ignoriance you fabricate an insult to someone more able-minded than you in hopes that he'll ride in and save you from your ignoriance. There was no insult to Vermathrax. Shit, weather the man hates my guts or not I value anyone who is not as willingly blind as some. (Edit: Add on) What does it say of someone as a whole when their mouth criticize ones seeking of attention.. while their hand spoon feeds it to him. This is a major point. Many pretty and meaningless words are spewed out, while your own hand acts against them. You lie to yourself like this to avoid faceing these truths about you. And don't take it too personally dollface. I'm just useing this one instance to prove a greater point. Don't let your pride make it all about you now.

[>> ooc: ignoring your edit since I really do have to go >>] *The even quicker reply caught her eye before she could scatter and a soft laugh came out. It seemed he had not really gotten her meaning, and in the lack of this had chosen to insult her in the way he accused her of doing. Imitation was a form a flattery it seemed. It amused her to perhaps banter back, but instead she chose the route that avoided a headache.*
"Well then sir, it seems we both fail to understand the other. But then I was not seeking understanding nor vision from you. For I am quite ..content in my vision of reality. As for my brother, I merely said you complimented him, nothing more. Perhaps you should take a look in that mirror I advised you to get and see if the hostility you take from others words are nothing more then your own self worth. Which is perhaps the truest clear fact that you seek to define yourself by a definition that only you know and then judge others based on this."
*Reply was sent and computer shut off as the vampiress went out to play around for the eve.*

I feel the need to repeat myself. Quit yer bitching and gtfo or show people 'how it's done', if you're so unfavorably impressed. Less talk, more action, given it's apparently that very behaviour that you're criticizing.

Thank you for calling me great, but I certainly don’t see myself that way. No, I take that back, I DO feel I am quite good at a few things, but thank you none the less. I also don’t understand how you could refer to me as puppeteer, other than an attempt at being insulting as I don’t control anyone other than myself. That is merely an assumption on your part.
I'm sure though everyone is pleased to have you finally clarify that they are mere puppets. But what is interesting, those you call puppets are only that in your eyes because they do not see nor do things the way YOU see fit. So it appears that you are the one that wishes to be pulling strings.
I have challenged you? Interesting. I've no desire to challenge you, nor have I made an effort to 'debunk' the realities personal opinions you hold of this city or its inhabitants. As well, you are a threat to no one. If I see something that catches my eye and I choose to express an opinion on it that is hardly a challenge. Should you consider it one from anyone, then you will find yourself in for a large surprise when someone DOES choose to challenge you. It is not a matter of not being able to ignore you, but more of a choice to not do so when the whim strikes. Perhaps I find the topic pleasing and therefore choose to engage. So please, don't make things more complicated than necessary. One last note on the above comment; You know nothing of my ‘ways’ or the ‘ways’ of many vampires in this city, singular or in groups. Perhaps superficially and with great assumptions, but no real knowledge.
Who pray tell are the false prophets? You seem to be the only one of late playing that role. Though there are plenty of prima donnas in this city but that’s all based on opinion.
I see weakness everywhere, in everyone, be it human or not. In lives in every individual that resides in this city, and we separate the children from the big peoples by those who can acknowledge that fear, embrace it and find strength from it. Anyone that finds shame for weakness is someone that has not yet truly ‘grown up’
Lastly, thank you for the compliment on the presumption that I have clout. Though another assumption it certainly is a pleasant unintended compliment. I would have never presumed it myself *shrugs* but that’s just the kind of gal I am.

And now the false humility along with that 'who me?' persona. Nice touch.
Look, you don't like what I have to say, then you go about yourself however you like to your little hearts content. But there are those out there with the same discontent as me. Perhaps they don't share my exact vision. Perhaps they hate my fucking guts, as well they should. But I am not the only one who feels the need for radical change. And I am not the only one working towards is.
Take heed of that.

You called me a great puppeteer. I disagreed with that but conceded that I am good at some things and I'll even add great at a few others. That is not false humility. That is honesty. You also implied that I should enjoy my clout, something that I personally do not view myself as having as much as you apparently are giving me credit for. That is not false humility. That is honesty. I’m guessing you either don’t know about that particular word or are so unaccustomed to someone being honest on how they see themselves that you confuse it with something completely opposite. It must be far easier to stand on your soap box and preach to the masses. As well, I am quite aware that there are a great many vampires in the city seeking a change to its stale ways and are discontent at the turn it's taken. Many of them are quiet about what they wish to see for the city, or how they wish to go about it, or what they plan on doing. You’d be a fool to discount those that are sitting under your very nose, but then again, you already have.
Take heed of that.

It sickens me to see the world like this. We are supposed to be higher beings. Does immortality not come with some wisdom, or at least lucid perception? Apparently not. In fact I've seen that we're nothing better than glorified humans. That pathetic human weakness and ignoriance is magnified in our society. I suppose a sheep with fangs is still a sheep. A shallow mind with telepathy gains no greater depth by emersion in the dark sanguine birth-water that sits cold and stagnant in our veins. As superior beings shouldn't we hold ourselfs to higher standards? Shouldn't we strive to acend past petty humanic fallacies, and not inturn be nothing more than a sad sarcastic mirrior image of those we call cattle? Perhaps we are no better by right. A subtle mockery of everything weak and fleeting. Like the humans, we have free will. In every word we speak and every action a choice. But unlike the humans whos ways I so despise... behind our every choice we have the immortality to back it up. (Sidepoint) And Damari, really. You're just proving my point every time you start rambeling about Lucius. No one brought that up but you. Get over it already. See, it's remarks like that which degrade humans that make you seem like a jackass, sir. Or have you forgotten what you once were? You're so disgusted by the way humans like me live, what with our "weaknesses and ignorance"...which in a way makes you a hypocrite, given you were human in the past. Let the vampires live however they choose to and stop acting like your opinion and views are final. I truly apologize for being so...mean and blunt, but it's when people act like what they think is official and whine when others don't agree with them that I get really pissed off. I also realize that I am quite possibly the only human around here, but it is a free county. Nonetheless, I feel insulted. But anyway. You can get your point across without the whining. If people don't share the same views as you do, too bad.

We are limited in so many ways: biochemical, emotional, psychological, that the additional powers are just enough to keep us from being truly pathetic. Yeah, we live forever. Big fuckin' hoot. It juts means that a rather large amount of idiots are going to be idiots for centuries on end. If immortality brought with it an intellectual enlightenment, that would give us something to pound our proverbial chests with. But as it is? Take your polemic and shove it, Scyth. She has a good point. Well said, Idony.

Her foot tapped against the tavern floor, as she decided what to type into the computer. So cutely put, Nya. And it was blunt, not mean though. Opinions, opinions, opinions. Putting your opinion out, is good, it's only mean when you do so not thinking of the other's feelings. You were quite benign, love.
