Nyatta grins from her computer screen at Sake's words in response. She types...
Thanks! I'm glad you think so; it took me some time to properly word. I was afraid of being too harsh, but I felt like I needed to get my point across. Knowing I was being benign in doing so is quite a relief. ^_^

This entire city is a joke. Through all my wanderings in Ravenblack I have yet to find myself in the company of a Vampire. Don't get me wrong, I've seen several valient attempts. Some tired old giants whos often rambling museings often touch on the real Way of the Vampire. But it is only in theory. Nothing more than idle smalltalk and pompus postureing. ..Stories of how it was. I am in the presence of a city full of witless and gutless bureaucratic vegatables wearing strap-ons for fangs. The vampires way, is very nature is to be free. To take what he wants and kill who he doesn't like. Not taking shelter in stagnant clan walls, motionless all except their mouths.. killing only from saftey and just when it is needed to keep up appearmces. Since I have been her I have sought out a clan of like minded vampires true to their nature totally without fear or regret. I have found nothing of substance. I don't blame the city as a whole, just those here who call themselves leaders. The truth is, there are no real leaders here, not that you even deserve a real leader. That's all. I wish I had your brain in a jar. *claps*

I knew there was a reason I liked you. Dismemberment is jsut so sexy. Indeed! There is nothing that brightens the day like harvesting organs. I always have my ice cream scoop ready. ;D If only chainsaws were allowed in the city. Then I'd be set.

It sickens me to see the world like this. We are supposed to be higher beings. Does immortality not come with some wisdom, or at least lucid perception? Apparently not. In fact I've seen that we're nothing better than glorified humans. That pathetic human weakness and ignoriance is magnified in our society. I suppose a sheep with fangs is still a sheep. A shallow mind with telepathy gains no greater depth by emersion in the dark sanguine birth-water that sits cold and stagnant in our veins. As superior beings shouldn't we hold ourselfs to higher standards? Shouldn't we strive to acend past petty humanic fallacies, and not inturn be nothing more than a sad sarcastic mirrior image of those we call cattle? Perhaps we are no better by right. A subtle mockery of everything weak and fleeting. Like the humans, we have free will. In every word we speak and every action a choice. But unlike the humans whos ways I so despise... behind our every choice we have the immortality to back it up. (Sidepoint) And Damari, really. You're just proving my point every time you start rambeling about Lucius. No one brought that up but you. Get over it already. But let's be perfectly honest here. How many clans have you come kissing ass in order to attempt entry and were denied? Rather than getting angry and insulting everyone that comes down the pike, perhaps you should take a small peek at yourself. The city is not void of wisdom; it's just smart enough to not trust you. Personally, I hold myself to a very high standard. But, four years ago when I was sitting having the exact same feelings as you, I didn't run around the city with my fishing rod in an attempt to sway the Court of Public Opinion. I got off my ass and I BUILT my vision. The clan I founded is now one of the elite in the city and it oozes that vision. My family ideals are similar. That's four years of blood, sweat, and tears not only from myself, but from everyone else that believed in the same. The city is not a full of small talk and posturing. It's not witless or gutless. It is not lacking lucid perception or wisdom. The real problem in this city is that there is a major entitlement issue. Vampires don't want to work for the ideals they want; they want it handed to them on a platter. They'd rather sit around on their computers and in pubs getting shit faced and complain about the "tired old giants" without doing anything to further their own visions. Vampires would rather whine like little babies than to do anything. And that, Sir, is what will forever separate vampires like you from a "tired old giant" like me. I've broken myself to get what I have now. What do you have to show for your efforts other than empty words that fall into the darkness, never to be heard from again?

Smiling at the screen of her laptop, the vampiress curled a leg underneath herself before shaking her head with a gentle chuckle.

Seyda, you make a very good point. But, I think what he may or may not be referring to in a broader sense is that many vampires feel the need to "consult" with their clans, families, ect., before entering a fight or duel. Now, that being said, I understand the fact that vampires don't want to drag their families or clans into battles that don't involve them. But if you look at it from another view, it does seem like a lot of vampires use their clans and families as a shield, protection or an excuse not to fight. That is pathetic to me. A vampire will talk shit about or to another vampire, but refuses to take action, saying things like, "If I weren't clanned..." or "I don't think my family would be to happy about that." or my favorite, "Just wait until my family/clan gets wind of this!" and so on. Empty threats, tired excuses, same old shit every day. No, I don't think we should all be jumping at eachother's throats at every insult uttered, but I do think there should be a certain amount of independence that every vampire is entitled to, regardless of whether or not they are clanned or in a family. Why is it that we have to drag 50 others with us when we find ourselves in conflict? I'd just like to see more vampires fight their own battles, and that's all I have to say about that.

*bows* I agree with much that's been said before.
There are those treading the slow, sure, steady, boring and working way to respect and whatever glory people are after, and there are those driving the highway to hell, the shiny, easy, shortlived and downwards way to glory and fame.
There are those complaining that respect is never given enough to them, but who never give any, save when forced to. There are those who respect people, even when not respected, until they actually are respected.
There are the pampered vampires, hiding behing their clan, family or friends, to not bear the consequences of their acts or words, and mouth off to pretty much anyone, without caring about the shame and shit they bring on their clan, family and friends. There are those who just stand for what they are, say and do. Clanned or not, they won't change the way they are, but they'll force their tempers to cool off, because they have responsibilities towards their clan, family or friends.
We are no beasts, going at each other's throat over petty things, or jus because we can. We are no grass plains to be walked and stampeded on. We are vampires.
There's a balance and a place to find in between all of the above. I just like to think that I am nowhere close to where Scythian lies with regard to the above.
