Siring?

I came to this city a year and a half ago. I wondered around the city for a few weeks, then I got my first sire. He helped me to get my powers started and showed me the ways of the city and eventually clan life. The clan thing didn't work out for very long, so we left and went to a bigger and much better well known family clan. My sire decided to leave that clan but arranged for a new sire for me in my clan. That worked out wonderfully. She was the perfect sire. I respected her and learned a lot from her and we grew more like sisters then mother and daughter. Then me being young I wanted to see what else was out there and left the clan but kept my sire of course. I went to a clan that was closely knit to the clan I just left and a while later my sire came there also. I didn't feel like I fit there so well and left it before major chaos came to them and eventually dissolved, and joined another one where oddly enough my first sire was. Being young, I fell for a pire I wanted to bind to. My sire did not want me to bind to him but, of course I did anyhow and my sire severed me.. That was heartbreaking but nothing changed for me as far as how I felt about her. When her clan dissolved she came to my clan. The leader of our clan ended up siring me. All was good for a while but things went very bad here as well. After a really bad time I asked to be severed and it was granted. Shortly my sire that severed me for binding, re sired me. I had also severed my bound partner by then. She is the best sire I could possibly have and am quite sure she will be the last sire I ever have.

Putting it bluntly, I started out as a lone pyress in the city- I suppose I learned things quickly, and worked on my powers on my own. Thing is with siring is, you're responsible for who you take under your wing. Then again, that's just how I am. I've only had one sire, and though she severed me, things pass, friendships between a sire and a childer may turn out to be not what you expect, but in the end, we all learn better. *winks* That's what counts, after all.

I really do not beLIEve it is appropriate to air dirty laundry in the papers. However, since it is the modus operendi of OI, here goes. I severed Gev when I realized that he was not concerned with me being abused by the staff at OI. I was slapped by Kilain, even though the rules that she herself posted said that I was not to be abused or belittled. If a mutherfucker writes the rules and then they break them, then I'm gonna get a bit steamed. Mephistophles, you say you really do not believe it is appropriate to air dirty laundry yet you are the first one to do so when it suits you. Furthermore, you proclaim such activities to be the Modus Operandi of Ordo Illuminati. I find it amusing that you think you've such an inside track into our method of operation. There is a time and a place for everything. What we release for public consumption is controlled and directed. You of all should know this but you choose mudsling and call names like an impetuous child. You think that I did not care that you were slapped while serving time in our catacombs. This shows how little you know of me as a sire and clan leader. Your ambition has always been light years ahead of your judgment and common sense. Your overinflated sense of self importance and complete lack of humility is the issue here. I care enough about my childer and clan members to give them a solid foundation of honor , humility and respect for themselves and those whom they come into contact with. You lack all of the above as well as the ability to be guided or trained. You showed with your lack of humility, grace or honor that you cannot take it when your ego is on the line. You care more for your sense of pride than you do sacrificing for something larger than your self. You have shown that you are in this for you and you only. Fact is, I did care that this was happening to you. I watched this with great interest to see how you would respond. You failed miserably and continue to be on a downward spiral of chaos and self destruction. Had you taken an accurate assessment of your situation and chose your course strategically instead of egoic reactivity, perhaps you could have proven yourself worthy of the self image you hold.

I had no idea that Cap was your first sire Mel. Kewl. It seems to me...for those that have been playing 3-5 years...3 sires seems to be the popular number.
The first is the one you join under. Second is one where you're in on either the inviting or accepting and the 3rd is the one where you look at the decision much more seriously. Anyone else think so or think differently?I have had a total of three sires since I've entered the city. I came in as Cap's childe, which is how I ended up in Cap Clan. The main reason I severed him is he wasn't really there for me all the time because he had such a huge family and had other things to attend to. Then Roargo sired me, and there was nothing wrong with that until he left for awhile to go to Hades. And everything else was falling apart around me at that time so i just couldn't have an absent sire on top of everything else so I severed him and bound to LadyFae (Nara) as my sire. RoD and Nara I both chose because they were both good friends and constantly supported me through trying times. They each felt like a very natural choice to me.

I don't see how a legal document is going to really change anything.
Blood is blood, if I'm ever pushed to the point where I'd sever my childe, I might just have to kill them first to take all my blood out of their system.
Point, I don't believe in severing as common practice. Happens too often. We're supposedly eternal creatures and we can't even make up our mind about who to call daddy.

I was first embraced in 1685, and traveled for quite some time before finding RavenBlack city about four and a half years ago. I came in as a master vampire, as my connection to Aubrey had faded over the years. Honestly, I thought him dead.
However, I did make some friends upon first coming here - obsidian, Em and Phoenixxe. About a year later, I asked obsidian to sire me, and was thrilled when she accepted me.
Now, well... she's been absent quite a bit, but she is still my sire. Guess having one is unusual for someone who has been around for as long as I have.
Then again, I've only taken one companion in all that time, and we'll soon be celebrating a year.
As to childer, well.. I've had a few, but they have a tendency to wither and die without contacting me. Guess that's why I teach in the clans I've been in, sublimating that desire to guide.

I have not been so steadfast myself. I have done some impulsive things in my unlife and now I look back and wish I'd stopped long enough to think things through. Gypsychild, I am sure I have given you much reason to find another sire.. and I am very glad you have not. Thank you for sticking with me. As for siring in general.. I dont often sire.... I was spoiled with Gypsychild and stormy jayne... they already knew about the City when I sired them... Phoenixxe..I helped to raise with CHASS .. but I dont' think I'd been in the City for a year yet... Now with Solanea... she I sired brand new.. so its a lot of work .. as those who have said before me.. it is a responsiblity to teach your childer.... they reflect yourself and your family.. so you want them to know much so they can excel in whatever direction they wish to go in. I have a different relationship with each childe... Gypsy and Phoe its more of a friendship.. with stormy jayne and Solanea.. more of a parent... and Yorgie. well.. he's just an Ass...

I picked Grandmere Xeneri because I liked her name and I knew she wouldn't attempt to control me or tell me what to do or put any stupid familial restrictions on what I was.
Family is as I choose it to be. Juddin tells me he wants to be an only child and I should sever Soddak and not take anymore. For me childer should have a common purpose with eachother. My common purpose with Xeneri is that neither of us cares a damned bit about the other.
It is merely a joining to allow me somewhere to succor and not a single lick of affection at all. When I pass her way I say hello, we chat and we move on not to speak again for months on end.
As for my own childer. The same could be said about Soddak except there is quite a bit of affection there but he's so deep in shadows that it's damned shock to see him out and about. He is my shadow childer, the one who may pop up once in a blue moon, his brain muddled by long sleep and then he'd slip away again.
And then there is Juddin. Well, Juddin is exactly as he has always been and seems to be the longest constant of my unlife so far.
Am my only girl who is still mine but she's being fucking stubborn so it looks like we'll still argue about the fact she should sever EBs ass and come back home where she belongs.
And well we have Orphius... Orphius is the baby. Cheeky and potentially mischievous. But still, the baby of the group.
Juddin wants me to kill it and sever it. Obviously, Juddin needs to learn to share.
There is a reason I only sire very few. Once the commitment it made it is forever and refuse to sever... I absolutely REFUSE and even when you're gone, I still think you're mine *grin* Because I'm a stalker that way. Just ask Am.

Just ask Am. *Chuckles and calls Hessian* You know the "til death do us part" thing... It's going way beyond that with your ladylove... I'm sure you were already aware of that, but I wanted to make sure you were, and before witnesses, so that I can recall it to you ad nauseam when you are tired and wondering what you bound yourself into... As for me... Well, I seem to follow the trend... but I have yet to choose my third sire... if I decide I want one. Being a master vampires has its strong points. If I were to choose to be sired, I have a fairly good idea who that person could be, but I don't see the point in telling more until my decision is taken.

*eyes your boy bits and grins impishly*
Weeeeeeeeell, you could always try your luck with having Juddin as a brother. I can't say he won't try to get me to kill you and sever you, but I can guarantee if you survive he'll die for you... or you'll kill him. It's so hard to judge how my little musketeers will react...
Siring is such a complicated business with a childer that's already killed off one husband. And you don't get a fancy last name as my childer. It's Jones. No more. No less. And well, I'm hardly nice. I'm mostly not that nice. And I have little patience too. And I'm not around as much and don't like talking to vampires I have little regard for. Plus a little selfish. Okay ALOT selfish but that's mostly because I know what I want and don't mind walking over vampires to get it. Is that so wrong. And of course, well, I do require a shoe allowance. Ask Rodargo. He throws Manolo's at me and runs in the other direction. Do you have lots of gold? That always helps. And I insist you love me. Because if you don't then I can't wheedle and cajole things out of you despite yourself. Mostly gold, but I'll take random shiny things.
Plus you know, if all else fails you can play chess with Hessian while I'm shopping.
*grins* And here I wonder why I can't get boy bits to be my childer. With a short list like that it's a wonder they're not running to sign up to be a Jones.
*wanders off humming*

Legion is my third sire. I was a master 'pire for over a year then Vera sired me, then Blade and now Legion. I'm still fond of Vera and Blade. I've no wish to add more to the 'list'.
