I'm hoping that's the case with me, too... but, I don't plan to do the kinds of things with my sire that you do with yours. ;D Pfffft, lame. Incest is best! >.> Well, that's fine and good and all, but here's the biggest problems with that in my case: 1. I love Arias, and he would kill me. 2. I love Starr, and she would kill me. 3. I'm not attracted to Gev in that way. 4. I don't need to go back into torpor any time soon.

It seems to me...for those that have been playing 3-5 years...3 sires seems to be the popular number.
The first is the one you join under. Second is one where you're in on either the inviting or accepting and the 3rd is the one where you look at the decision much more seriously. Anyone else think so or think differently? That's exactly my situation as well. The first I consider a sponsor, whatever his name was; the second was Shadow iL Caduto, who asked me; and the third is my present sire, The Sun, who I would never leave. I was the one to ask him to sire me. It was like a comforting homecoming to have a Solar sire, one who I unquestionably respected and still do.

I try and try to wrap my head around actually gaining another SIRE, but it doesn't make any sense. A mentor or a protector when yours is gone? Sure. I've seen vampyres leave covens or get kicked out only to have to find their place within another line or go solo. I get that. *slaps hand* Shhhhh! I know...i'm the minority, i'll just answer the question. I've only had one sire, and that is the only one I'll ever have. Do I respect her weakness in letting herself be drained dry by hunter bolts as we watched? No, it was pathetic. Do I hold contempt for her leaving aislin, who is one of white and my best friends? Fuck yes. Yet, she is who turned me. Tricked me into falling for her and letting her turn me, but turned me nonetheless. She brought me to my first home. She brought white and I together. Which is another thing... In the Jerry Springer show that is my family...if I severed jo then white would no longer be my sibling! And that would be just too freaky for me *grins* Plus Lhia would kill us both.

In my case, 3 sires is not so confusing. First one is the one I joined the game under. Didn't know anything about the game. It turned out to be someone named Kevan who I found out had 0 contact with anyone in his line so after a couple of years, Lucius asked me to be his daughter. I accepted and thats the way it was til he severed me for who knows what. I was sireless for a long while and then I got Rena. I don't see the first as counting. It was a biter link and everyone under it was treated as such. Playing the game for over 5 years, I say thats not bad. Not always true, some people find and remain loyal to their original sire through thick and thin. Three sires? I just can't understand that. In my case my first sire left the City. There was no one to be loyal to... so the point is moot. I think it's great for those who chose well the first time that they have retained their original sire. But I also understand changing sires like Vella did.

I have had two sires. My first was Mooncalf, a random turning. The only thing he ever did for me, or help me with, was the severance. I learned most of what I know on my own. My second and, I hope, only sire is Gevurah. He is the one who has been mentor, and guide for me. He has taught me about more than just the basics of the city. He is the one who tells me when I am wrong, or what will or won't work. At this point in my unlife, he has become more of a close friend, than a teacher. This also how I view being a sire. It worked for me, so this is how I will behave with my own childer.

Thanks Boomie. I knew some would get it. I've never been one to change sires and partners as habit and I do take them seriously. I've been with my partner for 18 months and I believe its a year for me and my sire, which isn't bad for 6 years of playing. (Especially the partner one-hell, 18 months is an eternity here but I adore mine and as for Rena, I can't see ever changing that) In my case my first sire left the City. There was no one to be loyal to... so the point is moot. I think it's great for those who chose well the first time that they have retained their original sire. But I also understand changing sires like Vella did.
