There's lots I could say about the things Poo and I were planning to do to shake things up before his pire got deleted, but I don't really see a point.

I apologize that I have not had the time to read all of the posts here word for word and have merely skimmed over the bulk of them, but here is my little .02
I have to agree with Rel's player that I too miss the days of the kill rp's where the slayer got the spoils. Let the same be said of my vampire if she is slain... they can have her ear or whatever! Tia will simply arise regenerated and then perhaps have her own bit of vengeance when she rp's the trophies turning to dust. Rp is for the imagination...embrace it and run with it!
I would also like to express that I realize that not everyone who plays a vampire does so by the same Orthodox Lore as myself, where vampires are indeed demi-god/demon-like creatures who exhibit more flaws and derrangements from within than their exceptional preternatural beauty and super-healing physiques would imply.

Well, shit. I'm glad I'm not you Michelle. You're the dawning of the renaissance. No pressure, no pressure. Look Rob, if Damari pushed any more freaking buttons she'd be sticking her stiletto into another vampire's brain. Hell, she's killed two vampires this year alone and she does so with impunity because the other vampires are scared. Now, hell, one of these days, someone is going to push back. Who knows who that someone is, and why that will happen, but one day it will. Telling us we should orchestrate it on purpose isn't fair to us who have to a bogus REASON IC to want to rule this world. Robert's Cap was perfect for the role because he DID want to rule the world and given how he was played, perfectly matched this antagonist you want for the city. But ophelia rule the city through Ygg? NN rule the city through RoR? It's just not believable to who they are as vampires. Damari could give a shit about ruling the city, she's tiny minded and vindictively satisfied with her little power base of impenetrability. You want us to create a scenario that will have everyone ELSE happy but would go against what we want as players. Well, what I think we want at any rate. Michelle is right. It gets fucking difficult to play evil when just one thread of trying to bait a character leads to a bullshit storm of ooc backlash "I've had enough and it' harrassment" crap and threads locked, bitching, moaning and bah humbug. You didn't think that was Ygg and RoR doing something? Do you want to know how many people have told me (or us) that we go too far sometimes? That because I run Damari, I should ooc conscience call what Damari does because at some point it goes too far? Hell, what was said in the last two days is nothing to what dialogue can happen in a war. Imagine the furor if this was full scale with the recent hoorah it just doesn't seem sensible to engage anyone at the moment. Honestly, if they can't handle Damari being her evil bitch self in normal time, what makes you think I (or anyone else) wants to put themself out there to create tension and drama when the FIRST thing that happens is an ooc slam? I got a slam for Monica recently, I got a slam for Damiana Jones... I'm still here and Damari hasn't changed, but you know what. ANYONE can yell ooc foul for anything, given enough impetus. Devils Advocate my ass... people just take their characters too seriously and it's all just so life and death if something happens to it that isn't pre-destined by some cookie-cutter design their writers have for them. I think THAT is the real reason wars aren't being started. The humans are scared.... For whatever reason, it's the human factor that's at fault here. I'm not scared for Damari. What will be will be, but I'm not going to be stupid with Damari just because someone thinks it's our noblese oblige to do something about the current ennui. Hell yeah the human factor is at fault, but it has been since the first days of this game. Pathetic people will always be pathetic there is nothing we can do about that. All of your points are fair, but let me say this there's a lot of great players on the other side of the wall. Who hit with hammers and have boulders land on there characters heads. Give the bunch a reason to fight, like I said you have won, so why not do something with the victory... I think this could go on forever, as a debate so im ending it on my end, loved talkin to you crazy bunch again. Still not sure what capacity I am returning to, but I am returning. For all those interested.

I agree with you a hundred percent rel problem is how do you enforce it? strongest clans in the city are stagnant and unwilling to act in the best interest of the game. (Yes it requires IC actions to achieve OOC results) characters need to RP. Need to establish new rules that benefit in this games rebuilding and enjoyment, problem is we dont have this, we have a bunch of idiot children running around more interested in making one line at a time sex scenes or insulting people in these papers that they have forgotten the basics. We need someone to return us to greener pastures but those powerful enough IC are to bored OOC to do it. So we are left high and dry and this game withers and dies. I had to quote this because you are absolutely right. Absolutely right. And it's really what it all comes down to. The ones that have been playing this game for years aren't really willing to put in the OOC effort, cause I do believe it does take effort from an OOC perspective, to rock the boat IC-wise. I know RL is calling. And I'm not saying living your life is all that bad. I do enjoy doing it myself. But...I'm done hearing about the old complaining about the new. It's really not the new characters fault that there isn't really older characters active enough to sit and teach them. And the ones that are active are content with just complaining about the new and young characters. And it's sad to watch the older ones complain when something CAN be done. The amount time an older player takes to complain about how the game is is just enough time for an older player to do something about it. What it really comes down to it, honestly, don't complain if you aren't going to do anything about it. ESPECIALLY if you have the means to do extraordinary things about the lack of Roleplay and fervor that's plagued this game. Believe me, if Uriah had half the knowledge, half the resources, and half the connections a lot of these older vampires have, I'd tried my hardest to do something. I've only been in this game for about four years going on five next year. But I didn't get serious about it until about two years ago. I can honestly say I don't have the knowledge or the resources to do anything. I really would if I could. Except when one of the older players (Puawai) DID try to attempt to keep things lively utilizing the similarities between she and your characters' names, you threw a gigantic OOC hissy fit. THAT is why the older players for the most part keep to themselves and don't bother. Because the amount of effort it takes to deal with the OOC bitching and moaning is ridiculous, and it leads to things that should be fun not being. So, instead of pointing your finger at everyone else, go look in the mirror because the proverbial blood is on your hands, too.

That's rather chock full of assumptions there, Rob. I only mean in a unwilling to Shepard the city way, I know that within ygg and RoR your very active among yourselves, but when it comes to spreading it, your kinda cold no offense. But its true Ygg and RoR are the only ones who can Shepard I have tried both IC and OOC to fix this city, it doesn't make it very far in the grand scheme of things. (Though I do think that OOC meeting went well right before I moved) I'm not cold about it at all. There are those that assume that Seyda would tell them to go fuck themselves if they asked. Then there are those that take the chance anyway. *shrug* The vast majority of Seyda's childer are those who started out having conflict with her because of her public persona. I kinda like it that way. Leads to interesting interactions, etc. What I AM cold about is doing everything I can to keep Seyda-world separate from Steph-world and having to deal with accusations monthly. And I'll be perfectly honest; Seyda stopped initiating interactions outside of family/clan unless necessary months ago when Seyda's name was placed on Wynd's epitaph in the graveyard and I was accused of doing it to further Seyda's reputation. There are people in this game that absolutely cannot see the difference between their vampire and themselves, and there are just mean-spirited people that will punch you in the face OOC to try and get a leg up on you IC. And although Seyda is a horribly offensive bitch to those she doesn't know, I'm just not that. Rob, you know exactly what sort of time and effort has gone into the RoR/Ygg "machine," because before Kaio's heel turn, he busted his freaking ass to help build up SIE. I guess the question is, with the time it takes to do what is done internally, why should we bother with a bunch of people who have no problem using OOC as a weapon? Is there even a point?

My apologies in advance for the novel, I've been silent too long on this and it's built into this monster, apparently. It's all fascinating, yet predictably so. Fascinating how certain paradigms, or philisophical frameworks, if you will, tend to repeatedly hold true for certain individuals...and that's much more childish than someone's RPing being childish. A thread's 'theirs' because it's initiated by their IC action(s), so they then feel that stepping away when they become too emotionally invested OOCly in the outcome is somehow 'losing'. Yet again the adage about 'keeping one's mouth shut when their up to their neck in shit' rings true. Then, when their IC repeated replies to obvious baiting encourage even more baiting and they begin drowning in that proverbial shit, they lose it altogether, it's the other player who's wrong, went too far, wasn't fair, and thusly harassed them, both ICly and OOCly. You poor, misguided, overly sensitive, narcissistic drama-queens! (ALL Cly's!) Just because you don't emerge on top doesn't mean it's not fair. That rationale is more associated with a child than an adult. Someone that can't see that, or needs to be told or reminded of that, probably doesn't belong here in the first place. That's pathetic, and people who feel that way have zero place RPing OR actively participating in a blood-based, vampiric game with weapons to be used for *gasps for effect* hurting other characters! Perhaps some strictly la-di-da butterflies and fairies or smut-based RP-related game/environment would be better suited to both their players mentality and level of emotional development. I say 'strictly' because those things can easily be incorporated into RP here if s player desires, as long as the true foundation of a blood-sucking vampire isn't trumped by goodie-two-shoes lovey-dovey ideals. If a player choses not to be the vicious warrior-type, then fine. But don't cry 'harassment' or 'foul' when you then blatantly and repeatedly choose to interact with others who are warriors with a strong desire for confrontation and battle. Some people were made mods, with the purest of motivations, who either aren't objective themselves, or didn't/don't understand the parameters they're to operate within, or both. I'm certain Reena will identify any issues there as they develop and take any required appropriate action...'cause she's good like that. I`ll skip the desecration of the twice dead, simply because I feel these other issues are more important, as well as the fact that in order to have stuff to desecrate or not, somebody has to...yanno, kill somebody all over again. (snipped a 'lil) Hey...HEY! *waggles fingers* I sorta resent that. Pea was chided for attempts at doing just that- sparking some life into the city with stunts and/or plots. Shot down too- because no one wanted to deal with ygg if they were gonna die. You gotta remember Ferry's name is nearly the only benefit we had...since when Pea became leader it was fricken dead and most the members now- well 90% don't have half the lifespan of the majority in RoR or YGG in the city. However- with that said, Puawai is still right...it relates to this thread because- the problem just isn't with Ygg or RoR- the problem is that those that have moderate resources- even if not enough to BEAT Ygg/Ror- are so attached to their charrys and so afraid of looking bad if they lose- that they won't make the first move either. Same goes for all the clans right now. The one thing we know ICly- is that neither of those clans will just allow you to hit them and do nothing. If people would stop protecting their charry so harshly and stand up to them when they feel a need- well eventually their resources would burn just like everyone elses. I mean *snorts* there are plenty in this city that would love to crack a HW on Seyda...but too afraid to admit it. So you can't lay blame on YGG/RoR...they have no need to stir the pot...they are sitting on the damn thing and waiting for someone to grow a pair and remove them from it. The longer people wait...the more they build. Though I do agree with Rob/Kaio that it would add some spice to the city if the alliance did use their power to do SOMETHING- I mean really- who cares if we call you bullies and point...what the hell are we going to do about it? . I feel that ladypeacek expresses the reality of the City's current power-structure better than any other who's not in RoR or Yggdrasil. The blame, if there's any to be discussed, isn't ours to bear. Although we dilligently shepherd our own, now you want us to directly shepherd the entire city's future, and along with it your version of truth and justice and the vampire way too? Tell ya what, here's a novel approach...you want change, then come hit me/us. Should we find your actions ossensive enough, and odds are that we would, we will then be more than happy to shepherd your blood-level to zero, with as much due haste as your movements afterwards allow. You want to change the current situation? Get your shit together and bring it to us, however many of you it takes to develop the nerve and initiative. You say it isn't 'fair' or 'right 'because we've been here so long, continually busting our asses all these years, and we won't do what you think we should, while you either haven't been here as long, (or consecutively active, if you have been), or were off chasing other persuits...most likely butterflies, fairies, and smut, for all I know. That's ludicrous and a transference of the consequences of your own actions, or lack thereof. For those who're supposed to be a badassed vampires by nature, and their players, that's a sissyfied chickenshit blame game. Immature double-standards perhaps aren't the best ways to express yourselves or effectively accomplish your goals. Get over yourselves and have the devotion to become yourself what you want us to be.

I hate to say it but I've done my dash in giving back to the game. I've moderated across boards, I've led and I've taught and been taught. To say that those who have been here the longest haven't put back is REALLY inaccurate. It's worse than inaccurate, it's insulting. If Uriah had half the knowledge that sits in the ones that have been here a while, I bet he'd be doing the same thing, it takes experience not to have to make wars and just as much patience and experience to bide time IC and wait, stock, prepare and wait. You're so off base it's not funny. Many of the older players I know teach, guide and work their asses off for this game. They put in untold hours of work, time and effort to make sure things in their portion of the game run smoothly efficiently and well. Just because you don't SEE it and haven't felt the effects of it, doesn't make it any less true of the effort maintained by many. It just means they dont' require advertising for those efforts to know they're doing well. Anyway - the only ones I see complaining about the young ones in the game, are the middle aged ones who think their elders. The ELDERS, are doing their own thing, and doing it well... so when stuff does happen. Well, we'll leave that IC - when it becomes necessary to discuss this IC. I disagree, lets be very clear here RoR and ygg have won. There is no real competitors or enemies at the gates they hold complete dominance they get new members every day and no one can really plan there destruction. They have the oldest most stocked characters. Hurrah Hurrah long live the queens. Now what? you don't take risks, you don't try to scoop up all noobs in sight, you don't force your will on others. you keep only those you know offer zero risk of rebellion at your side. There is no attempt at domination or princeship (Which would just be plain fun) I mean where do we go from here? Rob (Capadocius) owned the whole city but he never let it come to this, it never became dry or pointless he always pushed the bar. I mean with zero risk comes zero fun, I am surprised you guys don't look at this as if its a job at this point. That's all I am saying. I mean rather the ivory tower makes the move or someone with the charisma rallies everyone and some how topples the walls. I dont see the second one happening do you? Yes, but when Cap Clan was running around with its 'Join or Die' routine, public opinion SCREAMED for people to be left alone to do their own thing the way they want to do it. The simple fact of the matter is that you can't make everyone happy. When Cap Clan reigned, you had the majority whining about being left alone with a minority having the time of their lives because they were the ones "winning." Now, RoR/Ygg are the bastards because they aren't imposing their will onto anyone. But, if we went and imposed our will onto someone, we'd get insulted OOCly, told we're a giant bunch of bullies, and that we don't deserve to have what we do. But, yanno...be careful what you wish for and what not I suppose. If and when we do uncork, I don't want to hear the whining.

I have been dangling her like a little carrot to the city for almost two and a half years now. o.o You don't look at a thread for a few days and suddenly theres a massive battle over whose fault it is that the city isn't lively. Frankly RBC has always had low times, ever since I have been here anyways. Yeah a few months when people have shitloads of time, and there is war, conflict along with juicy gossip. Then it dies for a while, and certain clans get bigger and other ones get smaller. I don't think its anybodys fault really. And it seems realllly silly to me this has all come down to a "OMG ITS THE OLD PEOPLE" nooo "OMG ITS THE YOUNG PEOPLE" Technically its both. Ygg/ROR should not have to start anything, they have worked off their asses to get where they are and frankly good for them. Yeah it sucks that their not run by Cap who had so many failed plots its hilarious, but at the same time..eh thats how it roles. Thats why they are so good. Because if Cap were running Ygg right now for instance..well I predict reincarnations. But at the same time, you can't really blame the youngerish vamps for not going after you guys. After all, once they talk to a few people, they get the understanding that Ygg/ROR is a powerhouse. So why should they risk building there charries up to attack when they can do just that. Build up and then attack later. Thats not to say there aren't players who are at this very moment plotting to see if they can overturn Ygg/ROR. But if they take there time, then thats smart to. So really, its nobodys fault, its just usual rbc. As for this. Yeah because Dee was the one who posted the massssive ooc rant about players stealing names and then posted ic to. .... No offense to Damari (and I say that because I really am afraid I will spell your name wrong lol) But that took two to make it bigger. Not to say Dee wasn't a bit annoyed at it all. And you wanna know whats funny. I had a quite a few people, who after they heard Damia had sired said newb who was under attack, offer to help her HW Damari. Now if Damia were a total crazy bitch (and sometimes I wonder why she isn't myself) She'd do it. IC wise she isn't afraid of Damari, nor afraid of ROR nor really afraid of anything because the way I rped her back from D&B was that she got punished for committing suicide and was sent back to do something. What she has no clue. But shes stuck alive again so to speak. But in the end, the way I have always rped Damia stuck which is that she thinks before she does something, she may not care about dying, but usually shes going to do peaceful shit first, and if push comes to shove, then she willl go on the offensive. Not to mention, she figured that the childe would learn that death comes easy in the city, even when you haven't done anything wrong. Anyways sorry for the ramble Ill get back to the point. So said people offered, and like I told them, if damia was going to HW damari, she'd do it without help. If she dies, oh well, she will rest for two weeks and come back and start again. << So no not all players are afraid of ROR/ygg. >> Yeah thats what all the rambling came down to I promise, if any of them ever seriously manage to get Damia into that corner, I will attack and start shit up again. And ooc, not bitch. Because frankly I like my charrie, but if she dies...big deal. IC well she'll be huffy, but hey she can deal. She usually does. And ooc: once more to me its not a big deal. Heck I usually have fun playing a pissed off charrie, unfortunately, I made mine quite hard to piss off. Because its hard for me to play a charrie who isn't auto evil for some reason >> So I try very hard for RBC Damia to stay good.

No offense to Damari (and I say that because I really am afraid I will spell your name wrong lol) But that took two to make it bigger. Not to say Dee wasn't a bit annoyed at it all. Yes, Damari threw a fit ICly, which was her trying to do something. She asked OOCly whether someone was taking the piss or whether it was a new character. Someone (I think Jake) answered that it was it's own character. Dee then came in with attitude demanding to know what business it is of Puawai's. Puawai flat out said that she'd screw with the character ICly because it would be fun and it wasn't a pisstake. Then the thread turned into a giant OOC pissing match from there. People say they want communication OOC, but if someone asks the intent of something from an OOC perspective in order to do planning, they get punched for it. You (general, not specific) cannot have it both ways. Either you want to be open to OOC communication, or you want to spit venom and get defensive if something that you don't like happens. Pick one.
