If you read what was written and still need to ask the question then you're being purposely obtuse, or a prime example of what we're talking about.

The days of being enemies IC and friendly OOC are damned near over. It's not an era issue, it's a player's issue... There are quite a few players I like when dragonet can't stand their vampires, Rob/Kaio being the best example, Claire/Kaelani another. I mean, finding a good opponent is not that easy, someone who one can bicker with endlessly without it turning to a whining fest. I'm soo glad Rob's back. There's one very true thing I heard: people have grown too attached to their player's blood level and power. A zeroing is just that: a zeroing. Noone dies...

I agree with LP but I also agree with calibre, I am lucky enough to make enemies of Kaio with people like relsav, Seyda and dragonet I have chosen my enemies among people I hope I can build my character on one day be it through his defeat or theres. (Most likely his in most cases) and I can have him grow from these battles. Than of course you get surprised like with HA and how I got an awesome death post with them. Or disappointed like with the Runes. It is just a part of life, and we have to learn to respect that and move past it.

I can't imagine disliking someone oocly if you don't know them, haven't been given some kind of experience with them to make it so, or because you don't like their 'vampire'. As long as I've been here I can count on one hand, sans a finger or two, actual players I'd rather gnaw my own legs off than have to deal with.
Seb, I vote you DO bring back the Altar. Just make sure to do exactly what YOU want done with the ooc communication, ie-being involved. The days of being able to strap a vamp down to the altar and mutilate them without days of complaints and ooc accusations are more than long gone.
And again people, other than the random 'mistake' made by newer players, just remember that your character should do to other characters as they will, but with preparation to have it done in kind or worse.

Also, I think the mutilation needs to be something that a vampire can recover from. Chopping up the body, running it through a meat grinder and using the vamp sausage to chum for sharks would be a little extreme. R. Scott. I concur, if the action would slay a vampire by any definition of known lore, then it does not belong in a realm where it cannot be carried out. To clarify... Take a beheading for instance... By many accounts of vampire lore that would slay or bring about one's final death, and since this game is played by the rules of the grid, it makes no sense to perform an action that would technically have no meaning nor make any sense. I see no harm in writing about what could kill a vampire, but I would refrain from performing such without a means to back it up. Regards, ~Courtney
